Publisher's Summary

Adam Cade is entitled, arrogant - and he doesn’t remember me.

Adam is the prince of Lake Tahoe, born into one of the wealthiest families in the area, and he’s the one person I hoped to avoid.

He doesn’t recognize me.

He definitely doesn’t remember how he helped this town ruin my life.

Now that we work together, I have no choice but to get close to the arrogant ass if I want to keep my job.

Only, the closer I get, the less I see of the guy who wronged me in high school, and more of the sweet, sexy man he is now.

Excerpt:

He stalks across the room, his hair combed, his suit couture, in typical Adam fashion, and not at all like the casual man I glimpsed over the weekend. But the dark intent in his eyes is exactly what I saw beneath that polished exterior.

The same eyes that made me mad with lust this morning.

Never Date Your Enemy is an enemies-to-lovers romance with loads of sexy banter and a meaty plot that will keep you listening. Grab it now!

Susannah & Zachary did the best they could

The author should thank the narrators. I t was the only reason I listened to it.... because... Zachary Webber . I had to skip a lot of the female parts, not because of Susannah, she did a great job, but because that was probably the most annoying female character I have ever come across and I listen to at least 4 books a week.

DNF...

It's not that this book is BAD, per se...it's just...boring and repetitive. I'm 3 1/2 hours in and nothing is happening. Hayden is poking around, but not finding any information and Adam is just kind of...there?

This book focuses a lot on sexual harassment in the work place as well as corruption, but what's interesting to me is that even Adam is guilty of sexual harassment. Ex: Adam walks in on Hayden crawling on the ground looking for something and he basically says that he knew it was her because of her butt. She calls him out saying that it could be considered sexual harassment and he's all "no it's not..I was just saying that I could recognize you from behind." Uh...I'm pretty sure statements like they are in literally every single sexual harassment video I've ever watched at any job. It's actually the very definition of sexual harassment. What's worse? Hayden brushes it off after that. I get that office romances are flirty and sexual harrass-y like this and honestly? in the fictional world, it doesn't bother me, BUT when the book is literally harping on sexual harassment every other paragraph, having this kind of scene is contradictory. Also, don't even get me started on the amount of women that work there even when it's obviously a toxic environment FOR women. The CEO is a clear sexist AND someone got arrested the year before for attempted rape...so why work there?

I'm not wild about Hayden or Adam, to be honest. I feel like Hayden is basically playing detective the whole time without even remotely figuring anything out. It's kind of obvious what's going on, but she still can't see it. Adam is the kind of hero I DON'T like. He's very naïve despite the fact that he's not supposed to be and he's definitely the "fall guy". It's like the author wrote a book for that idiot who gets arrested for embezzling after being set up by all of his co-workers. That's basically Adam in a nutshell.

As far as the narrators, I really love Zacharay Webber and Susannah Jones. I'm still trying to figure out if they're pronouncing Jaeger's name wrong or not. They're saying Jay-Gur and it's really awkward. Maybe that's what it's supposed to be though.

Overall, I don't recommend this one. I haven't read anything else by Jules Barnard and I'm not so sure I'd try again.

OMGosh, OMGosh, OMGosh!!!! Each and every page... 😍😍😍

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.

Great Story and Narration

I loved the story of Hayden and Adam. I do think it could have been a bit shorter however. I like a 7 hour story. Just the right balance.

Well done Zachary!! Yes to these men 💥💣💥

Loving those Cade brothers. Can't decide between Adam and Levi as to my fav Cade Brothers but Zachary nailed it again on the narration. And Susannah is becoming a fab narrator as well. I am sure there's more to these Cade Brothers and looking forward to moving on to the next book.

Great series

A great ending to a great series. Might be a little steamy for some, but the overall story is a good one! I think each book can be a stand alone although the info given in each book is helpful in the end!
I truly enjoyed the narrations in these books also!

Loved it!

Loved the story line, narration (dual POV) and how Adam never gave up on his sassy, stubborn co-worker! I just was sad the series came to an end. But, can't wait for the Cade Brothers series...

Worth a listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. The series is good - there is an underlying storyline running through the series, so it would be best to read/listen to them in order.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cocky Prince?

Not sure.

Which character – as performed by Susannah Jones and Zachary Webber – was your favourite?

Hayden was my favourite. Adam is a good man, but he spent too long not sharing information with Hayden, and wilfully ignoring what he knew must be bad business practices for my liking.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Can't think of just one.

I struggled to finish listening

Although this is the final book in the series it felt like it was never ending. I really struggled with the last hour it was dragged out. The story about BLUE Casino was really good throughout the series but all of the American sex chapters were just CRASS AND VULGAR!!!

Dumb

Nah. The "smart" female lead is not smart, mostly just stubborn. The male lead's motive for staying in a questionable work position is weak and I don't buy it. Also, for a good guy he sure seems OK with prostitution (so long as the escorts are US native). And he sure is accepting of other men objectifying women (so long as it's not his girlfriend being objectified).

It’s quite dark

I agree with another reviewer. I’ve read the series and whilst it is a romance with a few comic elements there are does contain troubling themes that I hadn’t expected. I found the main female character very irritating. The performance, particularly the male character was very good.

Series has come full circle

Never Date Your Enemy by Jules Barnard is the fifth book in the Never Date Series.

Hayden and Adam’s story is an enemies to lovers, office romance. And Hayden’s hatred towards to Adam started way back in high school, but he doesn’t remember her until it’s revealed in a heated moment.

I felt like this story came full cycle from the beginning of the series, as there’s history which is connected to Jaeger and that missing storyline was further expanded on. As well as the Blue investigation.

This story is dual POV’s from Hayden and Adam.

There’s also some scenes/references which might be triggering to some readers.

Strong finish for the series

I knew when we were introduced to these 2 in earlier books I would love their story and I did

Plot twists I both did and didn’t see coming and a sprinkle of spice.

For me I hate miscommunication between the main characters so I was face palming myself throughout but that’s a personal preference so if it doesn’t bother you all good

Thanks for a great series and some very cute HEAs

Wow

Really enjoyed this book. I thought it would go pair shaped when she did what a friend suggested, but then she fell in love with him.
Loved the drama and the mix of friends. Great read.
Narration was awesome too.
