Publisher's Summary

Army Capt. Jordan Armstrong surrendered a piece of her soul to the burning sands of Afghanistan. Now back home, only two things keep her going: her demanding job as a Search and Rescue pilot and sailing her 45-foot yacht around the coast of McKinley Point, Western Australia-alone. Plenty of women have tried to reach behind her walls, but Jordan remains aloof. When American expat Sara Matthews shows up in her life and takes an instant dislike to her, it sets her heart on fire. For the first time in what feels like forever, Jordan truly wants to be seen and understood. She desperately wants Sara to discover the real person behind the mask. And so, it begins....

Gripping story

An excellent story that had me on the edge of my seat a time or two. The narrator did a great job with the different accents.

Provocative

This story is a lot more provocative than other lesbian romance novels I’ve read! My goodness. Great story surrounding the romance.

Excellent Audio!

I loved Coast Guard Rescue One. I had already read the book, but this did not lessen the audio experience. Great romance, action combination. Emma Wilder did a great job with the narration. I will look for her and Natalie Debrabandere in the future.

Sweet romance with a dash of action

This was my first book by author Natalie Debrabandere but definitely won't be my last. Great characters with a sweet romance, a dash of angst, a bit of action, and great narration by Emma Wilder definitely has me hoping that the rest of her books come to audible soon!

I thought about returning

This was just not a good story. Too many leaps in time and a story that bounds forward leaving a void where there should be details of the emotions the characters feel, the details. It was really quite bad. Develop a character, please. Any character.

Australian Romance and Adventure

Army Captain Jordan Armstrong is Coast Guard Rescue One. Nightmares from Afghanistan still haunts her. Sara Matthews mother was Australian and after another heartbreaking relationship she decided to give herself a new life down under. A journey to healing for two wounded souls. Erotic romance. Great performance. Recommend.

Strong women & Aussie accents. What’s not 2 love?

While the pace of the romance was stereotypical uhaul, it was easy to get past. The narrator was good and the story while a wee bit predictable, was engaging. I’ll listen to more from this author/narrator pair.

I liked this one

Nice balance of romance and adventure. Light story, good characters, enough plot to keep it moving. Enjoyable narrator with good character range, got lost in sentences now and again, but read for meaning and never wondered who was talking.

Not for me

I don't always write reviews Especially if they're not positive. I rate and keep it pushing. This book seemed to go from null to fast and back. In one wknd our MCs who didn't talk much to begin with were a couple and all in committed to each other. Even for lesbian standards that was awful fast. And I didn't feel the solidity of their relationship. The whole love was just off.

Then wait until the last 1.5 hours of this story to ruin the whole thing completely. Or was it the last hour that everything happens? I didn't enjoy the story at all. However, the narrator did an okay job. Especially with the accents.

Loved loved loved

That is all I can say. The book was very good and kept you on your toes about where the story was going to turn. The narrator was excellent. If she did all the Australian accents male and female perfectly. Would highly recommend the book!

Essentially a love story

Avoid unless you like Mills and Boon or Barbara Cartland. At times the narrator sounds like a robot. Yuk. Hated it. Skipped from chapter 4 to the end.

Inspiring audiobook for women

It was great to read a good audiobook about the relationship between two independent and gorgeous women in modern outback Australia. It was a bit annoying that they were perfect at work and at their hobbies, it would have been more realistic if the author included some character faults. All in all, an entertaining read for the modern woman!!
