Publisher's summary

The first time was easy. No one ever suspected the victim had been murdered. The crime long buried, the dark passions guiding the killer's hand are still alive. But the need for revenge cannot be denied. Only one person can stop the killing. Only one person can identify the killer. Only one person knows the face of death is as close as the face in the mirror....

Good book

I enjoyed this book. Gregg Olsen is one of my favorite authors. There is a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. I would recommend this book.

May contain spoilers

I kinda thought this book would pick up or at the very least answer some questions about how the 1st book in this series ended. It referenced the horrific serial killer murders but never went back to them. I mean I needed to know what happened with the little boy. Did he kill the cat? And how did the relationship with Josh end? So I couldn’t wait to start this book and was disappointed that nothing was resolved. This book has a good story but not as good as the first one.

The entire series keeps you captivated.

Great book. Surprising twist. I have read the entire collection, except this one. Great way to end the collection, especially already knowing some of the characters.

GOOD STORY, BUT…

I enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting enough, but once again, found myself very distracted by a man doing all the female parts (there were a lot of female parts in the book) and sounding very much alike in all the parts. AUDIBLE, WHY, OH WHY CAN’T MALES NARRATE THE MALE PARTS AND FEMALES NARRATE THE FEMALE PARTS?! This would completely change the listening experience! This isn’t to say the narrator didn’t try hard.

I also found it a bit hard to keep track of the many characters and flashbacks, which kept the story bouncing back and forth between the present and the past. Despite this, I was interested enough to stick with the story. The character, Tori, is SO diabolical and hateful — I just HAD to know what happened in the end.

I NEVER saw the ending coming and I doubt you will either!

Yes, I had some complaints about the book, but I was rewarded with a surprise ending that I totally was NOT expecting!

There’s an evil twin…

It started with the murder of Tori Connelly’s husband in Tacoma…the case seemed cut and dry…the Connelly’s neighbor had a fling with Tori and murdered her husband. Meanwhile in Kitsap County, Detective Kendall Stark doesn’t believe that her best friend’s twin is innocent…Tori has always been a witch. Kendall’s investigation takes her back 18 yrs to Tori and Lainie’s car crash and the death of a friend, Jason Reed. The story flashes back to various scenes in the lives of Tori, her twin Lainie, her stepson Parker, so we learn the story before the dramatic ending. Great story of manipulation and total selfishness..,it grabs you and won’t let go…even after the ending.
