Clever & Well-Intentioned …

… but sadly neither suspenseful nor easy on the ears. Narrator has excellent diction and control of shifts between character voices but starts so high that when she speaks for the little girl, glass breaks. The narrator really made it very hard for me to get into the book. It was so distracting for a first fiction Mr. Comey did himself proud.

Spellbinding

Could not stop listening. Descriptive engaging . Because of the author, assume this is like historical fiction.

Narration

The story itself was excellent and well written. The narration was distracting. The female character voices were weak, almost to the point of distraction.

Good plot

I liked the story. I really like the character build up especially the tough investigator.

Entertaining story

The narration could use some work but overall story was compelling. Twist and turns to the end. I think it was a great job for a first time writer, he should look to improve.

It was very good

Well initially it was tough to figure out who was who but as I caught on, all was good.
So many characters. I thought anything written by an FBI chief must be pretty good—and it was.

When I finished the first book, I promised myself I was going to read it a second time, which I may do very soon. However, I was curious to read your first attempt at fiction. Great lesson in how DOJ & FBI work

several plot twists

For a first novel this was very, very well done. The narrator was particularly good at all the different characters. The story was a little slow to launch, but once it got going kept my attention and had many twist, turns, and developments.

Excellent first attempt by the former Director of the FBI!

Fairly complex story line with excellent narration. Narration can make or break an Audible book.
