Another great addition to our addiction

Ms Foss really enjoys making her readers addicted to her every word. The storyline, emotions, chemistry, etc were over the charts in this book.
Carnage Island is a standalone and is MF, there isn’t any smexy time between the males. But the heat between all of them is so perfect and real.
Volt is my favorite wolf, that’s all I’m going to say.
The narrators all did an amazing job bringing this book to life. I highly recommend listening/reading

Unexpectedly really good!

I was a little hesitant about grabbing this one because I didn’t understand how 3 men could successfully be with 1 woman but I somewhat knew what to expect by the previous reviews… sex, sex and more sex BUT I really loved this story because there was a lot of love and passion/caring for the female lead not just horny men that wanted to sleep with her, they took such good care of her, she wanted for nothing. I’m just a sucker for men that do things for you without you asking.

Seriously Lexi does it again. Plus add in an absolute 🔥🔥🔥 narration job & it was so good. Loved Clove & all 3 guys. I think Volt might be my favorite by a little. I hope we get more books in this world!

I absolutely loved this audiobook. loved how there was a voice for every character! 😍

this was good enough that I looked for more

...in the series. however, this seems to be it in audio. There's a good plot about overcoming injustices and taking care of manipulative villains, freeing women from slavery, and deciding to do the expected thing or the right thing. The heroine is a bit wimpy for the first part but it is because much of her background has been hidden and she lived with said villains. Performance was good with easily distinguished characters.

The heroine: Clove - She is the daughter of the beta in her wolf pack. She is set to mate with the Alpha’s son. Their pack has a tradition that the females don’t shift until their mating ceremony, when their mate forces them to shift. During the ceremony when Clove shifts for the first time, everyone in attendance is surprised by her wolf. They frame her for the murder of her mother, put her on trial and send her to Carnage Island.

The Heroes: Tieran, Caius, Volt - all three are alpha’s. Tieran is the strategist, Caius is the brains and Volt is the brawn. Caius and Volt defer to Tieran as the alpha of the Carnage Island pack. They are the Black Mountain pack, they are the white wolves of Carnage Island, the most dangerous island on earth. Carnage wolves are known for their savagery. Of the reject islands, Carnage Island is the one were the worst rejects go, and the one island that has no authority except those that live there.

The Story: Clove’s former alpha assumed that she wouldn’t survive long enough to talk about what happened to her and her mother. However, she is stronger than they think and she finds that at first meeting, the three alpha’s she meets seem kind and caring not brutal and savage. Clove is unable to shift back into her human form since her mate never relinquished her from his hold and they take care of her.

The story was good and was original. I liked the idea of Carnage Island, though it is hard to say how they got the terrible reputation, since most of the people there were pretty nice and much better people than the pack that clove originally came from. I did like the characters and the world building was good. Though I thought they explained how the Black Mountain pack treats an Omega a few too many times.

There are some good action sequences, some mystery and betrayal by some of the pack members. The book was super steamy and quite smutty, but there was also a good storyline about the rivalry between the packs and how the black mountain pack wanted to get back at the other pack.

This book is told in dual points of view via full cast (duet) narration. It was narrated by Sarah Puckett, Kale Williams, Jack Calihan, and Jeffrey Holz. They all do a great job. I didn’t know who did what voice, but Tieran had a british accent which I liked quite a bit and the other two men have deep voices which matched their characters well. Sarah Puckett has a pleasing voice as well.

Get lost on Reject Island for a while..

Honestly, I bought this in ebook and in audio as soon as both were available, but put off reading and listening because … there is just nothing like reading a Lexi C. Foss book for the first time. I enjoyed the anticipation, but could wait no longer. Despite coming into it after all that, it met my expectations. Once I finished it, I immediately re-read it and I’m sure I will re-read and re-listen to this again in the future.

Getting lost into the world of ‘Reject Island’ is really fun and I feel like Foss kept it just dark enough, and just corrupt enough that it could all be wrapped up in the one installment (as this is a standalone read). (Not that I’d turn my nose up at any more with any of these characters or in this world!)

The writing is expert-level, as is the character development and plot design. If you’re curious about omegaverse, this could be a good introduction into that trope, as Foss tends to show rather than tell, so it all feels more natural.


There is so much absolute deliciousness going on here, which I’ll list, along with any other tropes or k!nks I can recall:

🐺 Age-gap (not a huge one, it’s 9/10 years).

Overall, ALL of the stars. I’m not sure 5 really covers it.

Audio:
Excellent. The full cast absolutely enhanced my experience and all narrators have pleasant voices and all perform their roles beautifully. Sarah’s accent tripped me up a few times (imagine my confusion at trying to figure out what “grimming her” meant, before realizing “grim” is just how she pronounces ‘groom’). (Yea, 😂my brain is a trip. Judge me all you want.)

Overall the sound quality is perfect. 🦩

This ....I Can Do

This was damn good. I'm not sure what other listeners are talking about. It was one intense ride. I'm so glad the author didn't make the Omega dumb, weak, childish, entitled and knot thirsty. .. like the authors usually do. Too bad Only book 4 is available on this platform.

Couldn’t stop listening!

Everything about this was great! The story, the voices who were reading the parts made it irresistible. I absolutely loved this. This is my first audio book I couldn’t stand the idea of putting it down.
