Story
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

Publisher's Summary
Unlike canned nature sounds created in a studio, renowned acoustic ecologist Gordon Hempton travels the world recording remarkable locations that capture the essence of the place itself. His lifelong mission is to preserve nature through sound, and his soundscapes are produced with such care and quality that you feel as if he has truly brought a slice of the world into your home.
Few things are as soothing as the lull of the ocean, and in this piece, Gordon celebrates the sounds of the Atlantic as only he can. Relax, close your eyes, and experience the waves crashing onto the wet sand like the earth's own breathing.

Love this so much
My ancestors settled on the North East Coast, so I time travel back listening to this, feeling the cool humidity, the smell and taste of salt in the air, the bracing caress of the wind. I can see the beach and the beach grass, and hear the absence of trees that I know were once there. Its just so moody and delicious. It also sounds like night. Feeding my imagination with the sight, sound, taste, smell and feeling of the landscape. Thank you for this.
