4 1/2 stars. Great narrators and a wonderful story

4 1/2 stars for me. Choices in the past broke this couple apart, leaving questions and anger behind. Maia was an intelligent, successful woman with a plan to take down Gatsby. I loved her drive but fully accepted her change of heart once she found out the truth. Her willingness to help straighten out her life (due to her own actions) made her a favorite character for me. Gatsby did what he thought was the right thing, but he broke his own heart. I enjoyed his optimism, gallantry, and kindness with those around him. He pretty much waited for Maia to come back into his life. A wonderful story which I do recommend.

The narrations by Sebastian York and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker brought the story to life and helped me enjoy the story even more. They complemented each other and kept me listening.

I loved everything about this book, from Claudia Burgoa’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to the ears. This is the second book of the “Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers”, each book is featuring a different Spearman brother as the lead character, this can be enjoyed on its own but I highly recommend starting with the first book, series, “Faking The Game”, Aslan’s story, not only is it just as amazing as this book but you get to meet all the brothers in that book, get an inside view of the family dynamics and the camaraderie amongst the siblings, especially the triplet brothers, most of that continues in this book. This book is Gatsby’s story, and it starts off with him in college 14 years earlier when he was in college and in a relationship with Maia Ocampo, the two made a great team both in and out of the classroom. But Gatsby receives life changing news and has to return home immediately and leaves without saying goodbye to Maia, leaving her broken-hearted and in a bind. Fast forward the current time, Gatsby, a billionaire, is the CEO of his own company, Maia is running her own up-and-coming company, he has kept tabs on her watching and letting her buy companies and deals he was interested in, but he draws the line when she makes a play for his siblings new business. It is time that he pays a visit to Maia, who has returned none of his calls that he made to her over the years. Maia is out for vengeance, she has her reasons but Gatsby is clueless to why she hates him so much. I admired and her for her creative mind, especially with his car, and her determination to succeed. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and hot romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another fabulous story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Claudia Burgoa cast to perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Sebastian York and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker are fabulously talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited character to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Nemeth-Parker played Maia’s role with perfection, captured her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Sebastian York did the same for Gatsby. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances this fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen!

Always love listening to Sebyo and Stephanie

In this story we learn more about Gatsby and Maia. We learn more about their past and are their for their current journey. The story comes alive when the narrators bring the story to the next level. I love that I am slowly listening/reading all of the books in Claudia's collection.

Can't Help Love

Claudia Burgoa adds another great story to the Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers series with Can't Help Love.

Maia's dislike for Gatsby runs deep and she has a plan to ruin him. One that does not involve falling for him again. However, the connection and chemistry between them are most definitely still there. It was fun watching Maia's feelings change from hate to love as she grows closer to Gatsby again.

Sometimes second chance romances can be a bit difficult to do right because so much of the drama between the characters is tied to past events. However, Claudia did a great job with balancing that past with what Maia and Gatsby were building together now.

Overall this is a fun, quick read with excellent narrators, and I am looking forward to more from the series!
