Publisher's summary

Amazon Charts bestselling author Vivian Barz reunites Special Agent Susan Marlan with Professor Eric Evans in a riveting installment in the Dead Remaining series.

It’s been a year since Special Agent Susan Marlan and Professor Eric Evans worked a taxing missing persons case together on the Olympic Peninsula. Though the couple have since separated, Eric must reluctantly turn to Susan for advice when a student accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend comes to Eric for help proving his innocence. Susan - busy tracking down two missing employees of San Francisco’s Gruben Dam - warns Eric to be cautious, as the young man has connections to Defenders of the Earth (DOTE), an ecoterror group operating out of San Francisco.

After the suspected student dies of an apparent suicide, Eric starts having visions that point to a more disturbing truth. Determined to figure out what really happened, Eric works with his old friend Jake Bergman to infiltrate DOTE.

As Eric continues to grapple with his newly discovered ability to see the dead, Susan’s missing persons case leads her to a startling connection between the campus suicide, her case, and the ecoterrorists. To put the pieces together and prevent further disaster, the trio must join forces once again.

Good Book

This book was a good addition to the series. It'll be interesting to see Jake becoming a private investigator in the future.

Good Addition to the Series

This book, though good, lacked the complexity of the first two. Let's see more spirits!

You Will Love This!

I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of Campus Bones by Ms. Vivian Barz herself for an honest review. So here we go!

This series is not for the faint of heart, though. If you do not like psychological thrillers, this is not for you. But if you dare, take a peek inside, you may just fall in love with the books like I did.

If you have not picked up the previous two books in this series, definitely do that, read them, then come back and get this one as soon as possible. I have absolutely loved getting to live in the creepy and thrilling world Barz created here. We have evolved into the world of missing and murdered college students, eco terrorism, and even more of the personal escapades between Eric, Susan, and Jake.

You are in for a whirlwind of crazy, but it is, I think, my favorite of the series so far. We get so much more in depth to the characters. We get to see Eric getting a handle on and using his visions to help solve these mysteries in a more concrete way. Susan gets so much character development (even though she was already a very fleshed out character. Jake even gets to go off on his own and discover his own path in life. I genuinely loved every word of this book.

The plot, itself, is a work of genius. I was on the edge of my proverbial seat each chapter. You couldn't help but turn the page and keep reading. I despised having to get up to get food because that meant I couldn't keep reading. Once you are hooked, this book sinks its claws in you and will not let you go without a fight. Trust me. Set aside some time to read it with no interruptions, you will thank me later.

If you can see, I made a tab with a post it note (along with writing notes on it) at every part that I liked or thought was important not only to the story, but to the characters. As you can see, there are quite a few.

I cannot wait to see what comes next from Vivian Barz! Thank you again for sending me the copy.

Also: GET THE BOOK, I PROMISE YOU WILL ENJOY IT!!!!!!

good story

If this had been my first book from the author, I don't know that i would've finished it. I did love rooting for the two main people to get back together.

Entertaining

Interesting plot with great narration. The characters were likeable and easy to follow. Suspenseful, emotional scenes, intense situations and action scenes. This has been an enjoyable series.I recommend this book but recommend starting at the beginning of the series.

Excellent Performance of a very entertaining book

I highly recommend this Audible book performed by Julie McKay, an excellent vocal talent that brings the written words of Vivian Barz to life. This book has captured the environment of campus life, including the 'hanger-ons', and those who exploit the idealism that is constantly drummed into the vulnerable. Who doesn't want to be part of the in-crowd? A desire that doesn't just belong to the young. In this campus environment, corrupt individuals dupe students and others into actions they never thought they were capable of doing. Throw in a reluctant psychic who's ghostly vision creates doubts about a recent suicide and you have quite a thriller. Several characters resurface in this book that gives great continuity to the series.

Pretty good

I’ve been enjoying this series. The second book was my favorite. This last book felt rushed. It wasn’t bad by any means but something about it felt rushed and it made me want to finish it fast. I sped up the narration so it would end lol.

3rd book not as great as the prior 2, but...

all three of the Dead Remaining books are unique. Vivian Barz has a terrific sense of humor. She also understands and conveys the fact people with mental illness and physical differences can and do live full, productive and happy lives (and she does this without ever preaching). There are ghosts, there are mysteries, a bit of horror -- there's even romance. The narration of all three books is spot on. Highly recommended! Discovered through Kindle. Well worth the time to listen. My only wish is that Ms Barz will continue this series. Eric, Susan and Jake are such great characters, having finished this latest book, I will miss them.
