Story
As pediatrician and mother of two teenagers Cara Natterson explains, puberty starts in boys long before any visible signs appear, and that causes confusion about their changing temperaments for boys and parents alike. Often, they also grow quieter as they grow taller, which leads to less parent-child communication. But, as Natterson warns in Decoding Boys, we respect their increasing "need" for privacy, monosyllabic conversations, and alone time at their peril.

They are ordinary people, but highly sensitive people (HSP) or highly sensitive children (HSC) may just have some particular needs not shared by everyone. Having a highly sensitive child may be challenging for parents, and many have searched for resources on how to take care of them. This audiobook is the product of my own experience of taking care of a highly sensitive child.

Love is important, but it is respect that is the key to your son's heart. The idea of moms respecting their sons may sound alien to some, but it seems to ignite curiosity across the board. It is easy to relate to the need for all of us to feel a mother's love, but is that the same thing as respect? Even for young boys, the effect of respect is nothing short of astounding when applied properly.

It Works!
To be honest, I was skeptical. I thought, she obviously didn't have a stubborn boy like me. I then tried some of the techniques and they worked instantly. It was like flipping a switch in my son. Finally I felt in control of his behavior. My husband also listened and we worked the methods jointly.

Absolutely hated this book
Tried again and again to come back to it only to find the same: annoying narrators voice, which sounded more like judgement or talking to a psychologist (not a good kind) and lots and lots and lots of generalisation of the writer telling me what my life is and isnt and what my son will and wont do or say. Book came across as overconfident and annoying. after a couple of hours had to stop!

Excellent
Excellent resource for parents of boys. I have 4, so have no time to consider how I can implement vague theories into practice. This is wholly practical & easy to implement from the word go, & I like how it encourages us not to be afraid to hold ourselves to a higher standard in today’s quick fix society. I am going to buy the paper copy to have as a resource.

I’ve started implementing some strategies, I like that the key strategies are only five and simple yet Noël has explained in detail many different scenarios for thought. I’ve read four other parenting books, this tops them. Will read the others by Noel.
