And when Alexia discovers there is a great deception in her own city, she realizes perhaps it would not be so difficult to help the undine after all. Or… to even fall in love.

now im off to read the prequel, but id LOVE if we could get a series where they start to fix the storms and humans lIve above or something. I just need MORE!

plot twists galore

this book was one of those life changing books. the series improves with each new addition and I don't know how the author manages it each time. Incredible

I am so glad I found this author. The story as a whole is so interesting and the romances are spicy but tasteful.

Amazing!

I’ve read all four books and each one has me pausing my life and itching to finish it. I don’t usually like mer-romances, but this series has me by the throat and now I can’t wait for the next one! 10/10 wish I could read again for the first time.

Hate to let this series go!!! 😭

When I found Whispers of the Deep (the start of this series), I was a little unsure of what I was getting myself into, BUT! I am so glad I found this series!! It has the perfect amount of fantasy and the perfect amount of romance.
Each book I have grown to love each character more and more!! They are a delight and saying goodbye to this series just hurts 😭 can we please get ONE more?! For Olax?!
I know that through out the other books, Fortis was always a mystery to me, someone we would really never know, but oh man this book was perfect!!! And Alexia was a surprise too!! Love her!!
Seeing everyone else from past books was amazing too!!!
I can’t wait to see other master pieces Emma Hamm brings to us!

Captivating

This might be my favorite book in the series! The nuances emotions, just the right amount of spice 🌶️, the plot twists! This was great and it didn’t feel like a wrap up to the series, it felt like it could be the end, but it might not be. Binged it in two days and I don’t want to leave this world.

Big girl, you are beautiful

The Deep Waters series started with an enemies to lovers story. This one renews that trope. Alexia is 6’7” tall and built like an Amazon warrior. As someone with many 6’+ ladies in my life, as well as women soldiers and athletes (some friends being all three) it was refreshing to see a protagonist like her. In previous books I never guessed Fortis, who was more like a shaman than a man, would be the (eventual) love interest. This story is eminently readable, and thought provoking on the ethics of many relevant topics. Once again, as always, the voice acting is superb. My one disappointment in this installment was the explanation for the rising sea levels and constant storms, hurricanes and tsunamis was not global warming, as I had previously believed was obvious. I’m not sure if humanity abusing our planet into a state that was uninhabitable was too controversial or if climate change itself was the divisive issue- We mustn’t bring “politics” or actual science into our sci-fi romantisy. Fiction is escapism and the current political landscape in America is fraught to say the least. Still a disappointing choice by Hamm.

I think my favorite book and couple in the series. Chemistry was epic and story gripping 🩷
