Every living thing is repelled by my corpse-like body...but not my wife.

Liches are almost gone, only a handful of us left. I must marry to keep my race from extinction, yet how? No living female will ever stoop so low as to marry a lich. People fear us. They say we are the harbingers of death, bad luck, rot, and decomposition.

In one last bid to carry out my duty, I request a wife through the Temple. She turns out to be a neglected, sickly thing with trembling hands and downcast eyes, seeking an arranged marriage out of despair.

And she's perfect. Her blushes burn hot, her voice rings with feeling, and her kisses taste like summer. She is life personified, all warmth, light, and sweetness, and I crave her like darkness craves the sun.

But will she sacrifice her warm, beating heart to a creature of death like me?

Contains mature themes.

It’s a sweet short love story with a bit of spice. What’s there not to like?

Sweet story with a lovely performance.

the storyline was a little different from everything else I've read, but I have no regrets for buying it.

I loved how he was there to protect her from everything including herself

I love a how sweet this couple is. The MMC is so sweet, compassionate, and truly cherishes the FMC in every way. I also like how relatable the FMC is in a soft feminine way, and she has deep trama that she is trying to work through. She has a beautiful character development with her prince charming MMC by her side doing everything for her. Some may not like that the FMC does not have the big personality and feminine rage to help process her trama. If that is the type of FMC there is nothing wrong with that but this character is not her way. The FMC gets healing for her trama instead of being guided by a very sweetly pushy MMC with his full support. The MMC in a Night in shining armor type that does everything for his damsel in destress. Which I love it is also alittle bit of a hurt comfort trope which I also love. Also I feel the spice is more tame and normal for a monster romance which I also like. So I hope this helps. Lastly the narration is not duet style but does have duet POVs. I loved the Female narrator's voice and how well the acted with the her different character's voices. The male narrator I feel did not do as well but was ok enough to still be enjoyable.

This is my favorite out of the series but it might now be for everyone.

“He smelled like … the night air in autumn, electrifying and ripe with memories of summer preparing for the long sleep of winter.”
That was uniquely wonderful. The imagery made this more about two isolated souls finding love than sex.

“She tasted like a meadow of wildflowers on a summer evening, like startled fireflies taking to the sky at midnight, like rain and fire, and the sweet spirit of butterflies and bees.”
⛔️ Eating disorders and mental abuse are integral to the plot. I normally want a stronger FMC and don’t care for out-there, shadows and bones monster sex, but this was beautiful and poetic and different in all the best ways.

A sweet, sumptuous story

What a great book! Great performances by both narrators. I Enjoyed this very much! And even though this is a short listen, I appreciated the character development.

So “Wed to the Lich“ is a supposedly romantic fantasy novel written by Layla Fae and published in 2023. This book is part of the Arranged Monster Mates series book 8 and tells the story of a lich and gets a bride match named May. The book explores themes of arranged marriage, monster romance, and features both the lich Virgil and May's perspectives. I found this book for mind numbing, and difficult to finish.. I guess I just don’t get the Lich character in this book. I regret buying this book, but I paid for it directly because it was cheaper that way so I am stuck with it. I don’t recommend it.
