Publisher's Summary

Julia

I never saw Noah Weston coming. He swept into my life like an unexpected storm, but soon, he was everything to me.

Until tragedy struck.

One day, I was planning the rest of my life with my soulmate, and the next, I was picking up the pieces of a love so strong, it broke me apart.

It took three years to put myself back together.

Three years until I was ready to move on.

I’ll never forget it. The day he came back.

Can lightning strike twice? Maybe, but when I look into his eyes, all I remember are the last words he ever spoke to me.

The words that left me broken.

Noah

I loved her before I knew her name. She was more than just my heartbeat. Julia Blake was a dream too good to be true.

When real life invaded the bubble we had created, I was left a broken man.

I survived, but I was dead inside. Half the man I used to be.

The half I needed had a new life without me.

Three years later, I’m back to reclaim what I’ve lost.

I’m back for her. Only, she wants nothing to do with me.

Audio is extremely lacking

Thank goodness the story is good because the narrator’s male voice is beyond awful. It’s so bad you would swear it’s a lesbian love story which I had to do to get through every voice sounding female. If that wasn’t enough, it sounds as if she recorded it at home, there’s static in between chapters some background noise and changes in pitch and volume and occasional clicking. My suggestion, read the book instead until they re-record it because the story is pretty good.

The story is good but the audio is problematic. There was background noise throughout the book!

Amazing story BUT.....

This author is my new go to, she’s that amazing. What was a significant flaw in this was the narration which by far was the worst I’ve encountered on Audible. Did it take away from the story ? Somewhat, as it was a major distraction. The clark family narration was stellar and I was disappointed the same narrators weren’t used. There were times I was confused which character was actually speaking. Anyways loved the story , Evelyn’s a genius but narration quality was an absolute hot mess.

Narrator 😕

This was a great story and when I saw it was by Evelyn Soto I knew it was going to be good but was disappointed by the narrator. I was hoping it was the one that did the narration of her other books Crave, Cherish and Crush. The stories about the Clark family were so good I have listen to them 3 times, you know you have a great book when ppl read/listen to it over and over.

performance was terrible

struggle to finish it. the story was so drawn out and sometimes it stopped making emotional sense. the characters I feel like they not believable and it was annoying at times. screen codependent and not emotionally stable for the two main characters and a personal thing for me is I don't like huge display of PDA written or otherwise for me it screams performance and very uncomfortable to be around those people.

Good Story

Realistic, complicated relationship. Liked the narrator’s voice but audio was terrible. Between chapters, strange noises. At one point it sounds like a child playing in the background. Around chapter 20 particularly, it sounded like the narrator was chewing gum. Better editing needed as well. I think in one chapter the word chapter is misspelled.
With all that though it is a good, romantic story, love does overcome. Loved the hero and heroine.
That cover model should get paid extra. He definitely sells the book.
If you can get past the audio blooper moments, it’s worth the credit.

great story, terrible audio production

this was a wonderful second chance romance! I personally love the details included in lengthy reads, so this story was perfect. but the audio was annoying! there was excessive background noise, re-recorded sections, etc. it was so bad that multiple times I wanted to stop listening, but the story made me stick it out. it was worth it!

Awesome story

This was an awesome story. Did not like the way the narrator keep pausing in between each chapter, but really enjoyed the characters. I have listen to this writer and have enjoyed each of her books. Can’t wait to see Greg’s story.

the story line saved this audio

the audio WAS HORRIBLE! my God where was this recorded?! it sounded like it was recorded in someone's bathroom. I wished I listened to my gut, after listening to the sample I just should've known, however the story was great! I should've just stuck to the book... the story was chef's kiss good.. get rid of the audio please or re-record because this was not worth the credit I spent to listen it.

It was ok

I like this author, but this story has me on the fence. Mainly how the heroine gave no grace to her best friend of 11yrs. Yes Claudine was irrational at times, but the way Julia acted pissed me off. If you can forgive a man you only knew for 1yr and separated for 3yrs you need to extend the same courtesy to your "best friend" . The author didn't give any info of the friendship status in the epilogue. Besides that the story was ok. The narrator was meh... It would've been better a duo narration. Also the sound was trash you could hear all kinds of background noise.

Loved the story

I really enjoyed the story. I gave the book 5 stars because I read the book prior to listening to the audio book. I had a couple of negatives that didn't detract from the book too much. One, the narrator, at times, didn't alter her voice between characters, causing me to occasionally have difficulty distinguishing between them. Second, the audio quality would sometimes change. The voice was always clear but the overall sound quality was a little questionable. All in all, I still enjoyed the book.
