The #1 New York Times bestselling romantasy series continues with more drama, higher stakes, and deadly consequences.

Duty. Blood. Honor. Power.

Saeris Fane doesn't want power. The very last thing she needs is her name whispered on an entire court's lips, but now that she's been crowned queen of the Blood Court, she's discovering that a queen's life is not her own. A heavy weight rests upon her shoulders. Her ward—and her brother—need her back in her homeland…but the changes that have strengthened Saeris have also made her weak. Born under blazing suns, Saeris will surely die if she makes her way home through the Quicksilver. Which means that, once again, she must send someone else in her stead....

"Keep your mouth shut. Stick to the shadows. And for the love of all seven Gods, do not crack any jokes."

Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate has defeated armies and survived all manner of horrors, but traveling back to Zilvaren with Carrion Swift might just be the death of him. The male just will not shut up. Hidden dangers await them down the narrow alleyways of the Silver City. Unfolding secrets pose impossible threats. Fisher must wrangle the smuggler and accomplish his goals quickly if he wants to see his mate again.

A darkness falls across Yvelia. The realm and their friends are in danger. Together, Saeris and Fisher will pass through fire and brimstone to save them.

Narrated in duet style.

Why does she always sound like she’s having a panic attack? like she’s always riddled with anxiety? It stresses me out.

Story

I cannot begin to explain how excited I was to read this book! After a just over a year we finally get the sequel to Quicksilver and it did not disappoint! Brimstone offers a masterclass in character development within a dark fantasy romance. I couldn’t put book down, even though I tried to savior every moment!

Brimstone has everything:

• The Character Development was so good, we witness Saeris transform from a reactive survivor into a strategic queen, and Kingfisher soften from a brooding warrior into a vulnerable partner, all while remaining fiercely powerful. Oh, all Kingfisher's POV was damn good and hot!!!!

• The Intricate Magic System is so unique and clever! The Alchemical system based on Salt, Quicksilver, and Brimstone is unique, demanding mental discipline and having tangible, often painful, consequences. And we still don't know everything!

• The Emotional Payoff! The relationship between Saeris and Kingfisher is the heart of the story, and their sacrifices for each other are profoundly moving and central to the plot. The connections with other characters were chef's kiss! It was one of my favorite part of this book!

• The High-Stakes Plot! This isn’t just a romance set in a fantasy world; the fate of multiple realms hangs in the balance, creating a constant, gripping urgency. The plot was original and I felt like I never knew what was going to happen from chapter to chapter. I felt the pacing was good. There is a lot at play here though, and the foundation was laid for us to make us want to find more discoveries down the road.

• The Intelligent World-Building! Discoveries, like the true nature of the city of Zilvaren, recontextualize the entire series and showcase the author’s clever plotting. And I think we will get more of it in another book!

• The supporting characters were just so, so wonderful! While this is book has some tough scenes, the comedic moments are well placed and created a strong feeling of found family. I loved learning about the different kinds of magic.

• The ending!!!!! No comments lol

I cannot wait to see what Callie Hart has in store for us with Book 3!

Captivating, Immersive, and Unexpected!

The book.was very slow until nearly the end. If I don't have to hear “ solarplex” again for a year it'll be too soon. Too much fluff. Carrion was not developed and he actually took such a character turn that I would say he regressed. Onyx had more of a storyline than was needed. Hayden could have stayed home.. Exchanging a rune for the life of a fox KNOWING the rot is spreading and the danger the realms are in was insane!! She could have released the druids from their prison but noooo... I just finished and I need to get my mind right. I don't know how I feel but right now I feel underwhelmed by the book

WHHHHHHAAAAATTTTTTTTT COME ON
