Story
Harmon Tomeral wanted nothing more than to go to space. Sent to an orphanage when his parents were killed in a sandstorm, the odds were stacked against him. Despite that, he made it to the academy and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class...only to find out the fleet did what it wanted, regardless of regulations, and he came from the wrong planet. He didn’t give up his dream, though, because where there’s a will, there’s a loophole, and Harmon and his friends found their loophole in the Top Fleet Marine competition - the winner would get 100,000 credits....

Story
Dominic Moretti was dealing with a lot of issues. Life hadn’t been easy since returning home from Afghanistan. His marriage was on the rocks, his sports betting was out of control, and he was hanging out with the wrong cronies in Manhattan’s Little Italy - just another war hero who couldn’t piece his life back together in the real world. Also, there was that strange, annoying feeling that he was being watched.... Small town, small world, great listen!
What a great way to spend 11 hrs! I started following the narrator on FB after listening to his first book, and picked this up as soon as I saw it was out. Really cant go wrong! A really well written and narrated book! It was a clean and fun story too and I was able to listen with my kids easily. Hope book 2 expands on the world a bit and fills some of the gaps.. but that's to be expected in a series... Can't wait for book 2, would really recommend this book.

Awesome for all ages!
Listened to this one straight through with my daughter in 2 halves. This is listed as a children’s title but I could see it in contemporary sci-fi as well. Clean fun and an excellent story for all age ranges. Im playing follow the narrator at this point and wish this guy had more. Now I guess I’ll play follow the author with mr. Mcbee.

Fun Adventure
I’m not typically a science-fiction reader, but I do like young adult novels. The premise of this book had me intrigued and I just had to check it out. I’m very lucky I did. Mr. McBee did a great job of providing interesting and witty characters, all while created a parallel world that we humans just refuse to admit exists. I was surprised to find myself chuckling throughout this book. I especially enjoyed the explanations of certain occurrences here on earth. Mr. McBee easily drafted away their explanation as a normal part of the parallel world.
Mr. Johnson did an amazing job narrating as teenage boy. I felt the emotion expressed was appropriate and the angst, anger, confusion and wonder of child suddenly thrown into an unknown world was great. I also loved the nuance he offered to the character. For example, there is a point that the narrator lists all the television shows his mother watches. As he goes down the list Mr. Johnson sped up the listing of the shows, just as a teenager would who was becoming annoyed with such information. It was wonderful to hear these tidbits of detail.
The book I read states that it is “Volume 1” and I can only hope that there will be more to this fictional world as Will continues to explore his new home and school and that Mr. McBee will continue the great connections of Earth to the great beyond in his humorous style to keep the readers chuckling.
I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

A Great Sci Fi Listen for All Ages
I was not sure what age category to put this sci-fi story into. However, I feel it can really be enjoyed by any age. It is heavy with teenage themes, but it is clean enough that a parent could listen to it with their kid. I am almost 30 and found this story enjoyable and I liked the characters. There was adventure and humour worked throughout the entire book. The world was unique and McBee did a great job of making sure all of the customs, foods, etc were well explained and understood. My only "complaint" was I found the ending wrapped up a little quicker then I would have liked.
KC Johnston did a great job with the narration as well. Voices were clear and had a voice that was easy to listen to.
I received a copy of this book at my request, and I have voluntarily left this review.

Enjoyable listen, recommend for teens...
Bridgeworld, Volume 1 by Travis McBee and narrated by KC Johnston, is a good listen and step into Sci-Fi for the younger folks. Despite being well past my teen years, I enjoyed this listen and wish this would have been around when I was growing up. I would recommend this book to teens in middle school.
What’s it about? A teen finds out he isn’t from Earth and ends up entering Bridgeworld Academy. It contains the typical teenage problems- relationships, sports, fitting in, jealousy, clothing, prom, birthdays, and like stuff. And if the summary, book cover, or my review didn’t make it clear- Outer space. Would like to note the book is rather descriptive (a good thing). There are underlying themes throughout (acceptance being one).
The narrator, KC Johnston, was once again fantastic! This is his second book (or so I believe it is) and he helps make the book what it is. KC is one of two narrators I’m following to see where they go. He has a steady, soothing voice. Would recommend giving him a listen.
Would I recommend? Yes. Would I listen to the next in the series? Yes, while it’s made for a younger audience, I find KC’s narrations are a must listen.
Parental advisory/trigger warnings: Overall it is a fairly clean book- beware spoilers are kept to a minimum here….stop now if you do not want any...
…..
...
.
I do not recall any swearing. Kisses between boyfriend and girlfriend multiple times (not described in detail). One boy attacks another during a game, but the attacker get his arm broken. Relationships between boyfriends and girlfriends (very PG from what I recall). Aliens, adults drinking alcohol, competition between two schools & the one school has a history of pranks gone wrong. Bathroom bullying by two girls from the other school at sports game. Bullying throughout the book between students. Kidnapping. One student gets kicked when he is unconscious (he is knocked out first) by another student.
*I won a copy of this book. Probably don’t need to write this but here it is.

Good Young Adult Story
A high school quarterback in a small southern town suddenly gets the chance to go to school at Bridgeworld Academy.
This is the story of his freshman year and how he got the chance to go to a school he has never heard of.
Well written high school drama in a Sci fi setting. Good narration.
I can easily recommend this book as I enjoyed it myself. And I am not in high school.
