An important issue was overlooked!

First, I d like to convey how much I enjoyed the interview with Jim Frangione, the narrator, at the end of the book. Although I have a list of favorite narrators, Mr Frangione, in my opinion, is the most talented, rounded narrator I’ve ever heard. He can voice both sexes and ages young and old. He can also do so many accents. He has made this good series, Great!

This book focuses on solving a serial murder case. Of course, there is some misdirection that I figured out early on but, it did not ruin the book. There are some bumps, in the road, for this couple but, everything gets sorted out, in the end.

My only real issue, with this book that Boone is having some individual emotional, mental issues that are not addressed or resolved, in this book. Boone has even been ordered to visit with the Brotherhood’s therapist but, the author neglected to follow through on this, in this book.

With that being said, I will continue to gobble up every book released in the BDB and BDB Legacy series, as soon as they are released. This is one series I pray never ends!

Blood Truth

Blood Truth was a treat, we get more of the trainees but we also get some old school BDB, a mystery that needs solving. I really enjoyed Boone and Helania. The dynamic and how they worked together but also how they figured out the killings.

The Band of Bastards or at least 2 of them really kind of come into play and I like getting to know their characters better. I am really looking forward to their books I hope we do get them because I bet they have something interesting to say.

Butch and Helania strike an understanding and I really liked that about this book. We get to see what made Butch such a great detective and why. I mean we knew why but to see it now with who he has become was well special.

The treat at the end of the book with Jim and JR was wonderful I adored this and getting to be a fly on the wall. How incredible is that?

Suspenseful and Thrilling Ride!

Boone’s sire has been murdered and he feels a little off. He alerted the Black Dagger Brotherhood of his sire’s betrayal of the species’ king; Wrath and it was too late. He didn’t have a good relationship with his sire and his not exactly torn that he’s dead, however, it’s a fact and it’s something that he must deal with. The Fade ceremony and having to invite people is not something he wants to be involved in. His sire’s servant is all to pleased with the outcome of the reading of the will and is acting suspicious. Females are being murdered and one night during his investigation, a scent in the air causes him to lose focus. He must know what female vampire has captured his curiosity and won’t let go.
Helaine is on a mission to find out who murdered her Sister. She has been obsessed and wracked with guilt for not having more zest for life and not being bold. Her Sister was carefree and lived her life to the fullest. She is devastated and her one goal is to bring her Sister’s killer to justice. She decides to take a chance on a stranger whom she learns is a warrior in the BDB. How can she trust him after counting on herself for so long? What she finds is a need to surrender to a pull like she’s never felt and take a chance on a Vampire that sets her soul on fire.
The Good: One thing I love about The Warden is her ability to tell a story and cover every detail without leaving unanswered questions.
The Bad: There was one part of this read that I wanted expanded on, but it didn’t take away from the story.
The Ugly: The way the females were killed was very sick and twisted. No one should suffer like that!
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. My favorite Vampires being intertwined was such a bonus in this tale. They were very present with Butch having a staring role. The drama, the sex, the thrill of this was very enticing and palpable. The passion of these two was pure magic and Boone is such a lovable character. His love for Helaine dug beneath the surface and ripped you in half. Helaine taking a chance on love and having conversations with herself was so relatable. Stepping outside of your comfort zone is scary, but she embraced her wild side and oh my goodness she delivered! She was bold and charismatic. She knew exactly what she wanted and was in charge of her destiny. This was such an amazing story and I did not want it to end. The narrator brought such life to these characters that I could listen to this story over and over again. Kudos on another 5 Star Read!

Absolutely Fantastic!

I have to say that this book is close to my favorite of all the BDB & BDB Legacies. Some of the one liners in this particular book provoked some serious belly laughs. J. R. keep them coming.
I also could never imagine anyone other then Jim Frangione narrating these books. His talent voicing these characters is masterful.

Failure to connect!

Ummm don't know what to say except that I'm so glad I finally finished reading this boring book. Well it wasn't all boring but I just couldn't connect with the main characters Boone and Helaine. The murder mystery was somewhat interesting but even that didn't keep my interest.

The narration was great and JR actually interviews Jim F. at the end of the book. It was a really good interview that I enjoyed much more than I did the book.

Truly loved it.

I hate it when I come to end of a good book! I never want to leave these characters at the end of their stories; what am I supposed to do now?😭

Wow what a surprise

It was such a delight to read about these young people in this series. I was such a fan of the BDB and somehow stumbled upon the knowledge that there were more. The narrator Jim F. Is the absolute best bar none. He’s part of what makes the stories come to life. By the way, loved the interview at the end JR!! Thanks so much for some amazing listening!!
