Publisher's summary

Che Guevara was a dashing rebel whose epic dream was to end poverty and injustice in Latin America and the developing world through armed revolution.

Jon Lee Anderson traces Che's extraordinary life from his comfortable Argentine upbringing to the battlefields of the Cuban revolution, from the halls of power in Castro's government to his failed campaign in the Congo and his assassination in the Bolivian jungle.

Meticulously researched and full of exclusive information, this work illuminates as never before the mythic figure who embodied the high-water mark of revolutionary communism as a force in history.

Worth the time

Absolutely loved this book. I found it extremely interesting and loved that it took the time to go down small paths of people who might not be mentioned again. The depth of knowledge and research Anderson had to put into making this is astonishing. Highly recommended.

Great Book!

I love this book. Second time reading it. First time with audible. This book is accurate and minus the usual USA propaganda when it comes to Che.

Che Guevara: A Serial Social Entrepreneur

What did you love best about Che Guevara?

This guys is not only an inspiration, but an ideal from from there's a lot one can learn, about conduct, entrepreneurship and leadership.

How one man, with no personal interest can change the face of humanity. He not only was a learned scholar, but was apt in executing what was right for the human masses. He really wanted to change the world, and sacrificed everything to do it himself.

There's not enough words to describe him.

What other book might you compare Che Guevara to and why?

He's above all.

Which scene was your favorite?

The part where Che, though suffering from Asthma, out-performed every other person in Guerrilla Training. His self discipline and dedications tells a lot about his persona.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me cry at the very end, not when they killed him, but by the effects he had on people even after he died.

The audiobook is not the same as the book,

If you listen and read with the actual book it won't be the same experience.

Insightful

This biography provides enlightening details of Che’s ideological evolution. It also contextualizes the struggle between governments promoting capitalism and communism as well as the ideological schisms between communist governments. The reader’s voice and enunciation makes this long story enjoyable.

Great narration, far too long

The narration was excellent, a great choice for this book.
I want to love this book, and I did like it, but it was so long and wandered into so much irrelevant detail about people Che was with or knew, that it took me completely out of the story. There was a lot of good info, could have been about 1/3 the length.

Viva la revolucion

Made me hate capitalism all over again. Che was a true revolutionary. May imperialism fall for a just world to succeed.
