Story
In Truly Madly Guilty, Liane Moriarty takes on the foundations of our lives: marriage, sex, parenthood, and friendship. She shows how guilt can expose the fault lines in the most seemingly strong relationships, how what we don't say can be more powerful than what we do, and how sometimes it is the most innocent of moments that can do the greatest harm.

When Patrick reveals that his ex-girlfriend is stalking him, Ellen thinks, "Is that all?" She’s more intrigued than frightened. She’d love to meet her. What she doesn’t know is that she already has.

Audie Award, Audiobook of the Year, 2016. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. "Jess and Jason," she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost. And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good? Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

Publisher's Summary
Originally published as Little Lies.
Pirriwee Public is a beautiful little beachside primary school where children are taught that ‘sharing is caring'. So how has the annual School Trivia Night ended in full-blown riot? Sirens are wailing. People are screaming. The principal is mortified.
And one parent is dead.
Was it a murder, a tragic accident, or just good parents gone bad? As the parents at Pirriwee Public are about to discover, sometimes it’s the little lies that turn out to be the most lethal. Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, school-yard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.

Perfection, didn’t want it to end
I loved every second of this book. Caroline was my most perfect narrator. So much so that the next book choice was mainly on her merit. It was fun, warm hearted and intense. A lot of strong female characters, which I love. And even the ‘victims’ were stronger than the bullying males. Making this book refreshing. I never watched the series (must be one of the very few in this world apparently) the story was fresh and engaging.
I don’t think I have ever been early in my life, yet I chomped at the bits for my morning fix to work, arriving... at least in time! New beginnings?!

Excellent Narrator
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It is an interesting enough story, but the narration is excellent.
The theme of the book is how much of our understanding is based upon appearances instead of reality.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Madeline.
What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?
She's very talented.

The end scene made me smile, it was nice to hear all loose ends tied up.

Should be 4.5 Stars - Fantastic Surprise
My Wife recommended this without having read it herself. Honestly I started of thinking this was a big mistake. This is a book for women about women. Male characters are very much in second place and I was close to giving in.
That was until about 20% in and then I became addicted and it was 5 star all the way. The Story of middle class families in small town Australia where the incident takes place is simply brilliant. Slow and atmospheric it just hooks you in and you need to know more.
Not just a who done it but also a to whom.
Frighteningly I think I know all the Characters in this book and they all live in my home town in Scotland. That is why this book is so good. You will know the characters
Love this book Thank you

Wow. I wasn't expecting that. A taut, but easy listen twisting and turning right up to the end. I thought I knew what was going to happen, but loved it that I was wrong. Very believable characters, I was spellbound right up to the end. Wish there were more stories like this.

I gave up
I realize I'm in the tiny minority here but I was bored by this book. I gave up after about 5 hours of endless domestic trivia. If the book does improve later it takes too long to get there. I found the accent of the narrator too harsh and unpleasant at time.

Brilliant! Her best Yet!
What did you like most about Little Lies?
It has left me with a book hangover. Only the best books do that. I feel like I just can't listen to another book for a while, so attached am I to the characters in this one!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Little Lies?
The scene on the balcony at the school event.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, but it was brilliant. I loved it!

An absorbing listen
Where does Little Lies rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Different to the type of books I normally listen too, but I'm really glad I chose this one.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Little Lies?
The revalation towards the end, before the death, I didn't see that coming.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
She had quite an annoying voice and I almost gave up on the book because of it. I'm glad I persevered. She was good at different voices for different characters but less whiny for Madelaine would have been nice!
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Made me laugh and cry a couple of times.
Any additional comments?
If the narrators voice irritates you, persevere and the story will grip you enough that you don't notice it anymore.

Fascinatingly detailed insight into life
Would you consider the audio edition of Little Lies to be better than the print version?
I can't comment as I have not read the print version.
What other book might you compare Little Lies to, and why?
I have read one other book by Liane Moriarty and listened to one too so I have to compare Little Lies to these as they are all very detailed about lives of ordinary people in Australian towns.
What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The authentic accent and pronunciation of place names.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I always listen in three daily instalments, my journey to and from work in the car and a long dog walk, a total of about two hours per day which is enough for me as I always have another book on the go on my Kindle.
Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed this insight into life as a kindergarten parent in Australia, thank goodness my own experience was less eventful!

Liane's as Always Captivates You
This turned out to be an EXCELLENT read, intellectually captivating with suspense and a few twists and turns - a real life portrayal of the social pressures than ensue from close knit communities and raising families!!
I do not want to throw up any spoilers - I believe that it's because at the time I read (listened to) the book, there were very few reviews and therefore no spoilers for me, that I persisted through the first few chapters, as frustrating as they are because they throw the reader into the deep end by introducing the crux of the book/story which is, a death at a school function, without shedding a shred of light as to who, why, how or when. Yes, my fellow readers, you must read your way to almost the end of the book to find out the details, and even then, you're left shocked and introduced to a new aspect of the story. But I PROMISE, you won't be bored and you'll always be left in thrilling suspense, with a gnawing need to read on until the whole story unfolds - and when you do, IT'LL BE WELL WORTH YOUR PERSISTENCE AND THOSE HOURS AND HENCE, WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY!! Liane has proved her worth, perfected her unique and brilliant style of writing again, and the brilliant narration brings the characters and story to (real) life!!
