Publisher's summary
Of course, the word, Zombie, was the most prevalent term of all. The only problem was, these weren’t the Zombies of science fiction and folklore, this was something entirely different.
This was an invasion; the complete and utter recolonization of planet earth had begun.
As Armies fall and governments collapse, a small pocket of humanity manages to eke out a desperate existence in the Florida Keys. However, scavenging enough food and supplies for half a million scared and desperate survivors only goes so far.
A desperate Hail Mary in the form of a potential chemical weapon sends Finn and a small group of soldiers beyond the protective barrier of the wall and into the very heart of Zombie country.
Along the way they discover that Z’s aren’t the only threat awaiting them. Human collaborators, either through force or as a means of survival are aiding the Zombies in their war against the rapidly dwindling human population.
When they meet Shaed, the Zombie queen, they learn that in the larger scheme of things, the human race has been destined as either a slave force or a food source…

Good story but AI narrator made it bland
The premise of the story was interesting but the vanilla narrator was just lackluster. I couldn’t really get into the story because certain words were mispronounced and the tone never changed, no inflection. Tessa was my fav character and she had no words in the story.

Good story, mediocre voice
For zombie fans this is a great story. I have listed to at least two hundred zombie and apocalypse stories. The AI voice messes up and mispronounces too many words. And some of the fixes edited in are bad. But really great story. Can we just keep the human readers employed?

Great story and writing, but the AI voice over for narration is bad.
All I can say is that I’m glad this book was free with my Audible subscription. I wouldn’t purchase this book with an Audible credit. Great story and no fluff to extend the story. Writer is good and was easy to follow along, but the AI definitely was a downer. Author needs a real voice behind his story and not be cheap. Hell, he could do it himself if he wants to save money. Hopefully we get a sequel or a part 2. Author ended with a cliff hanger.

Going to have to read it.
Virtual voice has to go! No emotion, monotoned, and in some instances it was hard tell which characters were speaking. I’m sure this story is better than the garbage virtual voice made it seem. I tried to make it through the story out of respect for the writers work, but enough is enough.
