It has now been several days since the world fell apart in the wake of the zombie apocalypse. Cities and towns have been reclaimed by the dead and survivors find themselves on the run, hunted like animals by the masses of cannibalistic zombies. Garrett Newton successfully led a handful of survivors into the deep reaches of a regional park where they have taken refuge from the more dangerous cities and towns nearby.

Forced to scavenge for needed supplies they soon find themselves facing obstacles and dangers none of them were prepared for. Tough decisions have to be made as the number of sick and injured begins to grow.

Meanwhile, the last remnants of the US military have taken up refuge on the island nation of Cuba. With a handful of dedicated scientists struggling to find a way to fight back against the virus, a bold plan is in the works to return to the infested mainland in a desperate attempt to find a cure.

Great book

The plot was great! I wanted to finish the book as soon as possible. I love it!

excellent zombie story

loved the fact that in this zombie scenario, no one was confused about what a zombie is or how to deal with it.

Crappy narration, great story.

Pretty good. The AI narrator sucks butts, however the story is pretty good. Trying to find the third installment of the series.

The overuse of ZOMBIE

I am only on Chapter 8 but I wish the author would slow down on the Word Zombie. Could have said IT, the DEAD anything to not hear Zombie back to back to back like we won’t know what he is talking about.

Like it a lot, but ended in the best part. I will hope they do part 2.

Very enjoyable

I enjoyed this book as well as all the four other zombie books by S Ganley. I was also surprised at how good the virtual reader was. Only a few things not pronounced like a human, such as 911, 7-11, Sgt for Sargent ( this was in one of the previous books). Overall though everything, especially the story was captivating and very enjoyable.

I hate virtual voice

The book was good. Good character development. The narration drove me nuts. Mispronouncing words and inflection in the wrong places. Still worth a listen.

Immersive

Was entertaining, out of many zombie horror I’ve listened too on Audiobooks this one does a pretty good job making you lose time

Very good but......!

Well written book, but the God awful AI narration ruined the experience. The AI narration was monotone, frequently mispronounced words and every character sounded the same. Even a marginall human narrator would have been better than the AI!

Nice story . I was team Calvin and Miranda so when he bit it I struggled afterward .i wasn't a lover of the pairing of the Miranda and Garrett ."grrr " barf .other too honestly . This is my favorite type of undead world. Not too military just enough normal folks. The girl boss " Miranda's s Mary Sue" super sniper stuff stuff I could have had less of but I know again it's fiction . Great book I'd read again .not much of antagonist most just survival but again, great pace .
