I enjoyed not knowing how the story would end.

I really enjoy the stories from Lexington AL and can’t wait until the next story.

Exhausting

The main. Character was exhausting. The way she stayed in the terrible situation got to be too much for me. I almost did not finish the book.

This book was everything!

I don’t know if Mrs Monroe is blessed with an amazing imagination or she knows the people in Lexington but her books are ALWAYS cliff hangers!!!!

Exactly the type of tale I expected

The book was engaging. Mary Monroe always gives you a twist or two and an abused Black woman who turns the tides on her abusers. This is a decent read and easy to finish.

Unpredictable Turns

One of my Favorite Authors of all time never disappoints. I cannot wait until the next book.

Storyline

I love this author as much as I loved J. California Coopers work!! She is awesome and I love how she keeps us connected to period literature and the same areas. Thank you Mrs. Monroe

I love Ms. Mary

As usual, the plot was engaging but a smidgen predictable. This time around, I found it difficult listening to this narrator because although her voice is velvety, when she ends the statements her mouth makes a lot of noise. It was unpleasant to hear. Her tone is beautiful but the additional sounds her mouth makes, made me want to hurry up and finish the novel. Going forward, if I see her name, I'll just download it to Kindle instead of purchasing Audible. But the plot, though predictable, is thoroughly engaging.
