Unsure what's up with the other reviews. this good

While there is a bug and it repeats a portion of one of the chapters it's easy to just hit the Skip and go to the next section.
Very much looking forward to the next book I really like Ed Nelson work.

There is a repeat chapter. 18

A great little series on isekai empire building, but the repeat chapter is a bit jarring.

The story is really good, though dry.

The only issue I have with the audible recording is a mistake in chapter 18. The last handful of minutes in chapter 18 is the beginning of chapter 18. Just annoying to fast forward through.

Chapter 18 does not match book

Seems like Chapter 18 at 50 seconds in switches back to Chapter 16 6 minutes in. After that the audio book seems all over the place. Chapter 19 has the start of chapter 18, and chapter 20 is halfway through chapter 18 in the book. This all can make it very jarring when listening to. Besides that issue, the story is pretty good.

I hope they will be able to fix this. When this is fixed I'll update this review.

could be better

I love the idea for the story but the characters need more meat on them. you leave so much out that could send this story up a few notches.

Cheap knockoff of Destiny's Crucible with poor narration

I really tried to like this series but if you want a story about a modern person going back in time-ish check out Cast under an alien sun, book 1 of Destiny's Crucible, by olan thorenson. There's so many parallels between the two series that it feels like the Baron series is just repurposing a lot of the plot elements and tech advancements. And this narrator is just bad. Nearly every medieval voice sounds like the person is a moron.

Not worth the time

No story, just an endless recitation of primitive production methods.
The author is probably a good engineer but a horrible story teller.

bad formatting. chapter 18 is a repeat.
