Micah and Joshua were more than brothers. They were also serial killers, an unstoppable force of mayhem as they made their way across the Old West to California in search of gold.
When they crossed paths with army sergeant and former indian tracker Eddie McCarthy, all their fortunes changed..
With a generous mix of blood, horror and good old-fashioned story telling, see why horror legend T.M. Wright said, "I would be very surprised if Barbed Wire Kisses doesn't cause a stir in the genre; the characterizations are such a beautiful counterpoint to the action of the piece."

Having said that, I absolutely loved this book! It's definitely not for the faint of heart, as it contains vivid descriptions of brutal violence and graphic sexual encounters, but fans of that type of work will be thrilled. I never give away any plot points in my reviews, but this is basically a western combined with a ghost story, and those are two of my favorite genres! Micah and Joshua are two brothers who cause extreme violence and mayhem wherever they go, In their travels they encounter an Army sergeant, and this encounter changes everything.
The storytelling is great, and like I said, Scott doesn't hold back on the gore and violence, but it never seems gratuitous. These guys are brutal, violent individuals who don't care about human life, so it makes sense that they do the things they do. The interaction between the brothers is well executed, and it all builds to an satisfying conclusion.
As far as the narration/reading is concerned, it is FANTASTIC! Wayne Messmer, among many other things, was the National Anthem singer at Wrigley Field for ten years, and his voice is amazing. Hearing him read extreme acts of violence in his clear, baritone voice, might have been off-putting at first, but after the first chapter, I was totally into it!
If you're looking for a western themed ghost story with a generous helping of gore and violence thrown in, all read in a classically trained voice, then you NEED to download this book RIGHT NOW!
Gruesome Fun!
