Publisher's summary

I might be the only unmated female in my tribe, but it doesn't mean I've given my heart. I'm waiting. I want resonance, and I won't settle for anything less.

But when an alien ship lands and a handsome stranger steps out, I know he's the one. His name's Mardok, and he's fascinatingly different - and distractingly appealing. But Mardok can't stay on the ice planet, and he says he can take me with him.

Now, I must make a choice. Do I stay and lose my mate forever? Or do I follow him to the stars and leave behind everything I know?

Contains mature themes.

Very satisfying story!

Dixon amazes me - how she can write such engrossing stories with little action in them. And this series- if I try to describe it to someone, they just look at me funny. Yeah, I’m being polite here. But it’s good! Definitely one of the best earth woman/alien man out there. The only author I like better in this specific genre is M.K. Eidem - start with Grim or Cassandra’s Challenge. Dixon is better edited.
This can be read as a stand-alone, but is best enjoyed if you’ve read the series.
In this story, I was very happy to find that Farli is still so sweet as a grown up. And she’s believable! So is the storyline.
I was very gratified that Ms Dixon wrote such a good male lead in Mardok. He had his ghosts and baggage, but could see beyond it to recognize how important her home was to Farli. And how positive and supportive it is. Dixon wrote the crew of the Lady really well - just likable enough that most “civilized” people wouldn’t realize how toxic they are.
Lloyd and Jackson make a great narration team for this series. Kudos to whoever had the refined sensibility to choose them.

Great series addition

This book was different in the series in that it was an ice planet native resonating with someone from a planet other than earth, although he was blue like them. He was much more technologically advanced. This book was really good. Nice HEA. Love Mason Lloyd and Hollie Jackson. The are a great narrating duo.

Darling, Sweet Farley

A sweetheart story. Definitely a PG-13, for our Barbarian tribe. I love that we were brought up to current thoughts of who,how and when the Sa arrived on the planet. And the peppering of clues to the Ice Home series. Thank you Ms Dixon for these wonderful characters. Ms Jackson for our women not sounding like a 12 year old girls and Mr. Lloyd your portrayal of the Sa men is awesome. You bring them to life.

Reboot refreshes the series

The first six books were great and inventive fun. Sexy blue aliens on Not Hoth ice world finding their HEAs with feisty human women. But after that it just seemed liked forced storylines and the author going on to make money. How many times are new human women going to appear so that more alien-human pairings can occur?
With this book we see the infusion of new blood in the form of a Sakui cargo ship discovering their stranded brethren. Although tamer than the other books in the series, Farli’s story is light and fun. As much as I like the primitive blue guys, I loved that Mardok had a darker, modern background as a space faring former soldier.
I’m hopeful that the next few books will also benefit from this new story line.
I waited for a half price sale. At $1 per audio hour, I’m happy with the purchase.

This one was pretty bad

I really did not like this one at all. And I don’t like that there’s some random spaceships that crash on the planet all the time and automatically they are compatible and have the same language as the people in the book. That’s just too easy and lazy writing. I’m not even sure if I want to continue the series after this one it was that bad.

Cannot stop listening

So far my favorite ice planet barbarian! These books are my guilty pleasure! Farlie and Madok are chef’s kiss and is great to find out how the other couples are doing. Looking forward to the next book.

So far this is my favorite book in the series. It branched out in such an exciting direction. I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Surprisingly Enjoyable

I'll admit, I wasn't really looking forward to hearing Farley's story. Don't get me wrong, she's sweet, and kind, and I'm grateful that Dixon, didn't change her into an asshole like she changed Jossie into one 😟....However, Farley has this childlike quality and innocence about her that just doesn't fit this setting! I mean it's like hearing a 12 year old talk about wanting to have good sex and make babies and get married all the time, and that baby voice and giggle, I guess is why I have to give the performance 4 stars... if she was supposed to sound immature, then she nailed it!...The intimacy and sex is always almost nonexistent here lately in these books, until the end, so I have been trying to look at the storyline and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't super great. You would think, here's this spaceship come out of nowhere with all this new tech and so many things could have happened, fights, bad blood between them,..So many missed opportunities. She should be combining these short books at the very least!.... COME ON, IT TOOK HIM UNTIL THE LAST 20 MINS TO GET GOING WITH THINGS.... That's all I will say as not to give the book away. SERIOUSLY!!! I'm engrossed in things so I'm trudging along, but no longer am I just going from book to book. NOPE!!! Waste of time and money.. I skipped Ahsa and Hermal's story (the mean one's who's baby died) and didn't miss a thing!.... This one surprised me though, I did like enough stuff about it where I wasn't mad at it.

As soon as I’m ready to bow out she pulls me back in!

The last one was not my favorite and was starting to make me think I’ve charged through all the good parts of this series and it was only downhill from here. Thankfully, this one caught me by surprise!

The performers are amazing!

I'm not a fan of the manic pixie dream girl trope. but somehow this worked a little. maybe because we had some of her back story previously?
Mardok is now one of my favs. Maybe because he's from the stars and brought a different flavour into the universe.

so much better

I just listened to When She Purrs , knowing I was regressing with Ruby's storyline.
it was not a good idea. I struggled with Risdaverse so I leapt back to IPB. just adored Farley and her story. it moved the story within the series along nicely. the H has definitely got some demons and it's sad to see it play out. however if I didn't know Ruby's trope I'd say he's the 'one that got away.'
there is more action than family love which is more up my alley.
Farley has the pure, simplistic point of view that is just perfect for her mate. he just needs to see it.
the plotline is easy and not intricate at all but it's refreshing to see the advancement of the world through Farleys eyes and the explanation from her mate.
I suspected that the elders cave was going to be part of the answer for the H.
the angst of going or staying is emotional and heart breaking and I sighed with relief at the outcome. so enjoying some action. steamy scenes with a little modern suprise for Farley and the most awesome narration (as usual) just makes this one of my faves.
