Publisher's Summary
The ice planet has given me a second lease on life, so I'm thrilled to be here. Sure, there's no cheeseburgers, but I'm healthy and ready to be a productive member of the small tribe. What I didn't anticipate was that there'd be a savage stranger waiting nearby, watching me.
And when he takes me captive, the unthinkable happens . . . I resonate to him. Resonance means mating and children . . . but I don't know if this guy's ever been around anyone before. He's truly a barbarian in all ways, right down to clubbing me over the head and claiming me as his own. So why is it that I crave his touch and hunger for more?
Contains mature themes.

Top five alien series
Love this series since I found it in kindle, and I’m thrilled it’s in audio now. In this installment, We found out why Harlow mysteriously disappeared at the end of Barbarian Lover. We get to enjoy Harlow & Rukh’s story.
Lloyd & Jackson do a very decent job of narration. I’m glad we get to hear this in the M/F voices.

Love these barbarians!
This fourth book in the IcePlanet Barbarian series was really entertaining! The heroine is clubbed over the head by a loner warrior at the end of book 3. It’s really better to listen to these stories in order of release, in order to get the full story. When she wakes up to a naked, unkempt alien staring at her, she’s appalled to find she’s resonating with him. He doesn’t speak the Sakui language either! Gradually, she cleans him p and teaches him words and they fall in love. The complications arise when she becomes pregnant and falls ill. He’s been taught by his father not to trust the “bad ones”, the other Sakui on the planet. Can he overcome his fathers teachings to get her the help she needs from the healer? Narration was well performed.

started fantastic, ended boring and intolerable
This story is longer than previous ones, or perhaps it only feels that way because it extends far beyond its natural end. I actually stopped listening with only 8 minutes left because I couldn't force myself to listen to even one more minute. Though it is a standalone, the events of the previous 3 books are referenced a lot, so they require reading first.
This book is enjoyable for the first half while we watch Rouk and Harlow build their relationship. Although the "wild man snatching a woman away" trope is used a lot in this genre (even in this series twice already), and it is a terribly dull and sexist one, it is much sweeter in this book than I've seen before. Rouk is NOT like an aggressive caveman. He is more like an abandoned child. I found his development of language and family extremely sweet. His relationships warm my heart, and I appreciate that all the characters have a large network intertwining them. The character relationships are not as shallow as they usually are for campy romance, so I'm consistently impressed by this. The women each have clear personalities I appreciate, too.
Harlow is incredibly capable and gifted at going with the flow. She doesn't waste energy with angst or begrudging her situation and instead keeps on keeping on. I enjoyed her personality in particular out of the 4 books I've read so far. Also, after 3 books, I was furious at several heroines for using obnoxious English idioms and never explaining what they meant to their mates. I thought this was just Ruby Dixon writing poorly (and I still sorta think so to a small extent), but Harlow is a nice departure from this. She properly explains things to Rouk. It warmed my heart that she actually cared about properly communicating.
After the sweet and uniquely domestic beginning of the story, I was sad to see the book takes a sharp nose dive into boring and intolerable at about the halfway point. The mated pair are forced to rejoin the tribe, and although there are a handful of sweet moments with characters we know and love, it's mostly dull and eyeroll-worthy. All the uniqueness and fun of Rouk and Harlow is sapped out by the mundane nonsense of the tribe. We literally get a scene with all the pregnant women swapping their terrible ideas for Brangelina-style mashup names for their babies, and I wanted to hurl. I think this is probably some kind of weird fanservice for readers, but it's gross and boring. Every character is reduced to a babymaker who only talks about babies and is happy to be discredited by the males in the tribe (contrary to their opinions in previous books). Bleck.
Not sure if I'm going to be able to stand this series any furthwr because it's clear after 4 books that this series has a hard-on for reducing women to wombs. I guess pregnancy-focused coupling is the kind of romance some folks wanna read, but it bores the hell out of me.
Narration remains good, although I STILL haven't warmed up to the strange accent Mason Lloyd cooked up for the aliens. Still, both performers are great overall.

A consistently romantic and entertaining series.
This is book 4 in the ICE PLANET BARBARIAN SERIES and while each story stands alone, I recommend they be read in order, if possible. This is Harlow and Rukh’s story and the warm cocoon of love they build is as lovely as the other stories that precede it. The difference is, this couple gets to know each other away from the clan and the relationship they build is unique and thoroughly enjoyable.
Narrators Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.
Having read thousands of historical and contemporary romances, for a while there I struggled to find something new to interest me. This series has been a welcome and unexpected boost to my romance listening enjoyment. Thanks Ruby Dixon!
I recommend this series.

I really enjoy this book. The relationship between Harlow and Rukh is so sweet and loving. Also love that the two brothers (Rukh and Raahash) are finally together and have family. Both men never had anyone for so long. I felt so bad for Rukh for all the years he was alone. So very sad.

if Harlow said "I'm fine "anymore I'd scream!!!!
this is definately the least of the books so far that I have enjoyed.
sadly, to my ears hollies impersonation of Harlow doesn't gel with me. with her mechanic background and her secret, I though she'd come across as a little geeky.
but the theme of 2 aliens alone has been done by Liz and her mate, however, this one story meshes in other ways nicely and Harlow goes from mechanic to teacher......for everything!!!!!!
I wasn't sure of who would find whom and which blue alpha would break first. but as usual babies get in the way and the heroes light bulb comes on.
I'm not a baby fan, prefer plots, angst and not knowing whats going to happen next.
hence Keira got the gold star for better plotline.
Harlows kept secrets, frustrated me more than making me antsy....and if she said "I'm fine" one more time I'd scream!!!!
Mason Lloyd your a freaking star, by mainting your flat tone and inflections where needed to keep the tongue in cheek in this book you propped hollie up where needed I believe.
I suppose georgies baby is next...and just a get it together human..with one of them at least! still doesn't stop me listening though....
