Publisher's summary

All Ellison Russell wanted was an update on her stock portfolio. Instead, she found her broker dead. With an unexpected out-of-town guest at her house, Ellison is too busy for a murder investigation. Only this time, Detective Anarchy Jones wants her help, and she can't deny the handsome detective. Can Mr. Coffee supply her with enough caffeine to keep her brain sharp and everyone else happy?

Juggling bodies (one, two, three, four), two-faced friends, her social calendar, and a cat (yes, a cat) is taxing, but Mother might be the biggest challenge of all. With a killer drawing closer, can Ellison put together the pieces, or will she be the one getting stabbed in the back?

Fun addition to the series

fun addition to the series. Love the retro vibe from the 70s. Ellison is getting better at standing up for what she wants

A great series

I love this series and always looking forward to the next one. For those who might not like repeating story lines this book may not be for you. there are a few spots where a synopsis of the previous book is given in the current story line. I did read the series from beginning to end over a couple weeks (I enjoyed it that much).
I also loved the narrator :)

Fun read

I like these books for the twists and turns but too much fluff in between and Great a Backbone and tell her Mom and daughter where to go!

Insider Trading at its best

Ellison just cannot help tripping over dead bodies + her relationship with Anarchy is progressing nicely even after a bump,

Good story

Another good series addition that deals with sexual harassment in the workplace. I am always amazed how she keeps the lack of technology straight for the time period. I find myself thinking “just google it” until I realize that was not I vented yet!! The only issue I had was that the ending seemed a bit rushed.

Fun story, retro vibe.,

Love this series set in Kansas City in the seventies. Many of the places I still visit today but sadly, I no longer own a Mr. Coffee!

Best yet

This series gets better and better. The characters continue to develop and plot continues to mix traditional and modern perspectives of the 70s. I love this series!
