I don't let anyone in… I can't afford to. But he's the first person who makes me want to try.

My new roommate, Caleb, breezes into my life like unexpected sunshine lighting up the darkness. My secrets and sharp edges are built to keep people out.

But when he wraps his warm body around mine—needy and trusting—something in me cracks open and unfurls.

And the deeper Caleb sinks into my chest, the more I know I should push him away before he sees too much.

Before it's too late. Because in the end, I know the truth will break us both.

This book just solidified that love. their love story is so real from a place of simple misunderstandings but truly not lost on when it really matters.

I was already in love with this couple and Caleb's family.

Caleb is the alternate POV of Whit. Do you have to read Whit before reading Caleb...probably no, but you should. Whit is the story of Caleb and Whit and their path to falling in love, Caleb, imo, is the fleshing out of some of the most beloved scenes of Whit as well as a couple of additional contextual scenes. I loved Caleb because I loved Whit, if that makes sense. The narration by Liam is top tier as always, he does an amazing job of expressing emotion with his voice so when the character aches, the listener aches too. All in all a wonderful addition to The Unecpected Series.

Sooo I had a slow moment and did not realize until about 10 minutes in this was Whits POV I definitely enjoyed it as we didn’t learn much about him in book 1 it’s worth listening to.

This book is essentially book 1 (Whit), only in this book we get to learn more about Whit, who was slightly enigmatic in book 1. The more drawn in picture of Whit is worth it, and this book is different enough from Whit (book 1) to be worth the listen.
