a very surprising book

great narrator. and a awesome mix of characters, I cannot wait for book 2, 5 stars all the way around, another great book by JN Channey.

Has potential but needs a better narrator, I can do better and I have absolutely no expertise acting. Someone get Jeff hays to kickstart this series.

Lost in Space and Star Trek had a baby

This was a fun listen. I enjoyed the story and the characters. If I had to describe this book, it is like watching [Listening to] the TV shows Lost in Space and Star Trek mixed together.
Nice to see the family and aliens they meet find their places. Like the showes, its got a bit of a campy feel with huge overcoming odds.
Narrator was good but only minor differentiation between most character voices. The longer I listened, the more the narrator grew on me.
Only a couple instances of foul language or the like. Great listen for long drives. This is not Galaxies Edge, The Lost Starship, or Ender's Game, but if your a fan of Lost in Space, Gallaxy Quest, or early star trek... I think it hist the spot.

character development

An outstanding story that draws you in from the first chapter. Another in the line of Cheny's hits.

It was ok.

I decided to listen to this when it had no ratings. The story was interesting, but it was drawn out unnecessarily. The writing was at a high school level and lacked the nuances of a polished writer. The narrator was really bad. He had decided to not give any inflection to the different characters, so a female character was voiced in his male tone. This may have been a choice, but it was jarring. I would have given him a one star, but at least he was understandable and enunciated well.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone over the age of 10.
