Complexity of story weaving and character development

I’ve been hooked on Kel Kade’s series and anticipation of book 8 but tried this whiling waiting. Very clever author partnership. Excellent!

Worth the credit but ..

The performance, while narrated well, was a bit jarring in that the transitions to Tryder seemed to be written such that it was unclear of whether they were flash-backs or just character scene transitions. This made it difficult to determine who was the MC between Tryder, Zuri, or Jarek until near the end. It almost seemed like the authors decided to write the scenes separately and blend them afterward, having the effect some subtle but noticeable disconnects.

Even so, while I enjoyed the novel, it's unclear if I will continue the series.

Didn’t want this one to end

Amazing start to a series and stand alone in its own right. I love the world they created. Another masterpiece by Kel Kade. Now I’m excited to read more by Hale as well. Probably the best single-person performance I’ve ever listened to as well. Fantastic all around.

Plot, action and unique magic system

Looking forward to see what happens in book 2! Plenty of great action from the start. The magic system is very unique 5 stars just for that. This book is like a breath of fresh air.

Great characters!

Loved the storytelling and it was clean! No sex no language. Just great characters and the plot. Can’t wait for the next!
