I loved this the second time around!
Declan and Teal are such a good couple! My heart felt for Teal so so many times. Mollie Starks performance was amazing.

Just as good as Saint!! Love this series, has the best character development for Declan.

Obsessed

I loved this book when I read the ARC and the audiobook made me love it even more. Teal, burdened by her role as a founding father’s daughter, has spent her life battling mental health struggles while her family tries using her as a pawn. When her father’s latest scheme threatens her freedom, her nemesis Declan, son of another Sigma Sin leader, steps in with an offer she can’t refuse, though it comes with blackmail and a fake relationship. The tension between them is utterly addictive as Teal finds unexpected peace in Declan, who proves he’ll go to any lengths to protect her. Narrators Mollie Stark and C.J. Grey are perfectly cast. Stark captures Teal’s vulnerability and quiet strength, while Grey nails Declan’s broody, protective intensity. Together, they bring the intensity of their relationship to life. This is one you definitely don't want to miss!

Absolutely loved these two.

I did not think I was going to love Declan as much as I loved Saint, but honestly, it's a tie and I can't choose. I have definitely found a new favorite series and haven't met an Eva Simmons book I haven't absolutely loved. I did not expect this book to be so emotional, but man was it and I definitely cried a couple of times. The Narrators did a fantastic job! I could really feel the emotions. Poor Teal really went through it but the way Declan loved her and healed her was perfection. Declan starts off rough but man that man is a top tier book boyfriend.

Better than book 1

I enjoyed book 2 much more than book 1. Teal and Declan had fantastic enemies to lovers vibes and it was believable! I also loved how the story dealt with mental illness and suicidal ideation. You don't really see main characters that struggle with that or who have attempted it . I appreciated the way in which it was handled as well. However definitely check trigger warnings on this one before listening.

The narrators were fantastic! I waited for the audiobook before Eternal because the audiobook of Saint was sooo good! I knew Eternal would be just as amazing, and I was right. The narrators brought Teal and Declan to life. This was such a great read and listen.

ETERNAL

I was waiting to hear Declan's and Teal's story and it did not disappoint. The story was captivating as well as heartwarming. Declan became one of my good book boyfriends but I have to say (Saint)Kole is way more possessive, and obsessive. Can't wait for Alex's story.

The curious case of chaotic FMC, Declan deserved better

Okay listen… I started this one out of mild curiosity. Declan was interesting in book 1, and I wanted to know what was going on with the reclusive, mysterious Teal (Teale? Teel? Audiobook problems). But y’all. I was not ready for this journey and not in a good way.

Teal, our FMC, is probably one of the most exhausting characters I’ve listened to in a while. I’m all for complex, broken, emotionally layered women, give me the trauma and the healing… But what we got? Was a girl who seemed to go out of her way to push away literally everyone who helped her, while weirdly tolerating people who actively hurt her. I mean??? Then pull them back when she’s needing them 🙄

The constant snapping, the never-ending loops of self-loathing monologues, and her talent for manufacturing conflict from thin air 😑 it was giving emotional masochist, not misunderstood princess. I get she had issues. Truly. But the way she wallowed in them on repeat with zero new insight until like…the epilogue? I was hanging on by a thread. A thread made of sheer curiosity about unfinished side plots and the audacity to hope she’d get better. Spoiler: not really.

Also, I need someone to explain what a “rich boy look” is because after she goes over and over especially over a T-shirt and jeans? Isn’t that rugged? Ugh who knows…iI started to think maybe I was the one going crazy.

Declan deserved better until he didn’t. Because then he started obsessively loving her despite and I was like… oh no, you’re both insufferable. 😩 I mean I get falling but dang! When you are constantly rebuffed? Started to feel stakkerish and not nicely, believe me, I enjoy a good, well written stalker plot…

And don’t even get me started on the whole "arranged marriage logic" how she could understand one setup but act baffled when Declan pulled a similar move?? Ma’am. Make it make sense.

Anyway, I didn’t DNF because I'm nosy and some of the backstory from book 1 was still dangling (I’m looking at you, Sigma Sin drama). I was also hoping for maybe some closure. There was an epilogue. It was repetitive. Again. Because of course it was. I mean, we got the other side of Sigma sin, do I wish there was more Sigma sin and less inner monologues? Absolutely!

Now, am I am debating going for book 3… the way she introduced Alex back was genius! But if Mila turns out to be Teal or Violet 2.0, I might just ruin my phone… The spice is spicy, though, so, there’s that 🔥🔥🔥 But why must every FMC be so uniquely exhausting??

TLDR?
Declan was the hook, Teal was the trauma, and I need a vacation before I dive into book 3.
