Some interesting pronunciations of western topography- it’s butte not butt. But hey at least it’s not ai, or is it?

Interesting and informative

I thoroughly enjoyed the first 80% of the book. So much information and good stories. The last bit bored me a bit. Maybe because it was modern times and not historical.

A lot of history

Covers the history of Yellowstone area from prehistoric to modern. This could have been a very dry read but it was not. I enjoyed it and it moved along. I was not particularly knowledgeable about most of this history but I think even if I had been that I would still have enjoyed it and learned new things.

History of Yellowstone

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of our first national park. Lots of trials and tribulations to get it to where it is today. I was most fascinated with the chapter on the wolf, and the cascading effect the re-introduction of the wolf to the park had on the ecological system. Amazing! Having visited the park many years ago , I was truly interested in how the park evolved and came to be.

Great for lovers of history and nature!

This was an amazing read. I picked it up in preparation for my third trip to Yellowstone. I learned so much and will go into the park with a new set of eyes.
