A Chronicles of St Mary's short story that is sure to entertain. If you love Jasper Fforde or Ben Aaronovitch, you won't be able to resist Jodi Taylor.

It's Christmas Day 1066 and a team from St Mary's is going to witness the coronation of William the Conqueror. Or so they think...

However, History seems to have different plans for them and when Max finds herself delivering a child in a peasant's hut, she can't help wondering what History is up to.

A wonderful, astonishingly short tale from St Mary’s to brighten the season. I’m saving it to my winter short story collection!

A Gift!

What made the experience of listening to When a Child Is Born the most enjoyable?

The performance....Zara Ramm makes these stories come to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Max. Her snarky point of view makes these stories a lot of fun.

What about Zara Ramm’s performance did you like?

She is the voice of this series in my mind. A perfect fit.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest differences.

Any additional comments?

A nice one-off story with the heroes of the Chronicles of St. Mary's.

A mission to the past goes a little off plan

Thank you, Dr. Barstow for drawing the parallel between the Christmas story and Max's exploits in the 11th century British countryside. I really enjoy these St. Mary's short stories, which seem to serve as the author, Jodi Taylor's Christmas cards to her readers/listeners.

Touching Christmas Tale

The agents planning on going and attending one of the important times in history and then getting sidetracked was unexpected. It was great that they helped those in trouble without worrying to much about themselves. Then the ending made me smile and rounded out the story.

Really enjoyed!

Jodi Taylor is my hero. Since I can't write I'm glad she can. Too short but really really good. I hope Ms. Taylor keeps this series going for a good long time. Thank you Jodi.

I absolutely love this series.
