Completely different from the St Mary’s romps. This was an engaging historical romance with a side of mystery. Our leading man was three dimensional and refreshingly middle aged. I liked all the characters very much. Our narrator gave the story just the right amount of British equanimity, and her voice was pleasant, easy to listen to. Brava!!

Great read, super fun and still a modern flare on Victorian England. Once again Ms Taylor spins a story I simply can’t put down.

Jodi Taylor is one of my favorite authors and I’ll listen to anything she puts out but this one was not for me. It was made worse by a terrible reader whose male voices were like nails on a chalk board.
