Bland

Typical period piece noting a strong female protagonist and a gruff male antagonist sedate English love story with little heart wrenching passion or drama. I was hoping for more.

Great story. Anna Bentinck has a great voice and did a wonderful job telling the story

Terrible narrator, good story

I've loved Zara Ramm's narration of Jodi Taylor's St. Mary's series, and I wish they had had her do this one, too. This narrator was so annoying and used the worst voices for the men and a couple of the women. But I liked the story and so listened to this in only a few sittings.

Really good, for a romance novel

It has enough mystery and intrigue that will keep you interested in this story, and only a few romance parts that will cause you to roll your eyes. And it has an interesting ending, on the mystery part; the other part, you know how it's going to end. 😆
