Republicans in Wisconsin Legislature can't even go all in on political theatre

  • Summary

  • Republicans in Wisconsin's state Legislature called themselves back into session last week to override 36 of Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' vetoes. Well, half the Republicans did. First, the Legislature has been off since mid-March and was scheduled to be off the rest of the year, despite its full-time status. But, the Senate met to override these vetoes, including on PFAS, where Republicans have been withholding $125 million in funding to help communities like the Town of Campbell, despite the release of those funds being signed into law back in January. We discuss how the GOP only did a third of the bills they wanted to, plus the other half of the Legislature didn't even meet, leaving anything the Senate did moot.
