Jason and his companions managed to forestall the inexorable undead, but their battle is far from done.

Both they and their enemies are scattered across a strange realm, one that someone must conquer if anyone is to get out alive. Territory by territory, factions fight to reunite their people and conquer the realm.

Jason must contend with alliances he doesn’t want, friends he cannot find, and enemies ranging from angelic despots to the power of an undead god. He must face a realm that has been warped by his own mind and find a way to save a friend whose sacrifice got them this far.

To have any chance against the enemies waiting for him, Jason will have to confront the power inside himself that he’s been unwilling to face, fearful of what he’ll become. Only by accepting the destiny that looms over him will he have the strength to face his foes, with no promise even that will be enough to defeat them.

Featured Article: The top 100 series of all time

The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

Starting to feel like the author's head is getting a bit too far up his own ass with pandering at parts. Most woman characters can do no wrong and every married couple devolves into dope husbands cow-towing to a woman who's just too good for him. It's tiring. 😒
But the jokes are still funny and little character moments are still enjoyable.
Feels like we're reaching the edge of story stakes mattering, but I'm curious to see how Shirtaloon attempts to get around that.

It's okay

At first I was frustrated for the same reasons as most of the others, the 'moralizing' being the exact same unneeded conversations over and over and over. The exact same jokes, explanations, and the way that the author ignored certain vital characteristics of previous characters to further the story along. Honestly I was so annoyed that I started overlooking the aspects of it that made me fall in love with it in the first place. It most definitely was an incredible story and got so much better as the book progressed. I will most definitely listen to it again^^

Got so much better as it went on

I absolutely love the world building performed in this book. The scale and scope of the events that build up the climactic end leaves me wanting more from this series. The character development is also well done and something I applaud as each one made sense and stuck to continuity with call backs to prior instances within the series.

Fantastic World Building!

I love the book and all the others but I either zoned out or details and situations were just jumped over. also I feel like this was supposed to be three books but it got chopped up and and condensed into one.

confused

This was by far one of the best books in the series. It is absolutely insane kept me going the entire time and I cannot wait for the next book.

Oh my god an absolute banger
