In the distant past, a time of magic and swordplay, there lived Harold, the mightiest lich of all, a master of arcane sciences, and a challenger of gods. An incredibly long nap that ends with a jolt, thanks to an unwitting adventurer who trips into Harold's crypt. Blinking into the torchlight, Harold finds a world he barely recognizes. No more swords and sorcery, but a universe buzzing with cultivation, celestial sects, and far too many pretentious dialogues about the path to godhood.

Harold is no naïve cultivator. He's an ancient lich with a single ambition: to slide back into his uninterrupted eternal slumber. But the cacophony of quarreling sects and smug martial artists seems determined to keep him awake.

Undeterred, the sleep-deprived overlord is ready to confront this brave new world. After all, no aspiring deity, no grandiose sect, and certainly no self-righteous martial artist is going to rob him of his beauty sleep.

My funny bone is bruised

The puns were awful, the magic was fascinating, and the world building is marvelous. suffice to say I had a wonderful time listening. Soundbooth Theater does fantastic performance work and the writer did a great job keeping me engaged with the story. 5 stars.

Different from most but in a good way

Most LitRPG's tend to blend together, this one (based on the cover) looks like most others. When I saw soundbooth theater handled the narration I decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed and really enjoyed the book, I'm looking forward to the next one!

An all powerfull main character done right.

The main character is a powerhouse, nothing can really scratch him, and I believe they have made his personality fit this role very well.

Everything I hoped for and more!

Absolutely worth the credit, no regrets at all. Great story, great narrators. Worst part of listening is having to wait for book 2.

Fantastic ensemble and characterization

what's the hilarious to happen The voice acting of Harold was brilliant and really drove home how much his character enjoyed the intentional groan-worthy puns, can't wait till volume two is audiotized
