When a demon arrives at Blackwood farm seeking a spiritual experience, Asher hesitates to let such a creature with a dark reputation stay. But as he delves into the history of farms like Blackwood and their role in the Valoria realm, he realizes this may be an opportunity too good to pass up.
As Asher navigates his new life tending to the farm and its guests, he discovers that the adjustment is not without its challenges. From demanding games to learning new skills and crafting potions, Asher must also contend with the mystery and intrigue surrounding Mist Valley, including the upcoming election of a new mayor.
As the former adventurer adjusts to his new life, he must also confront the looming threat of something wicked coming his way. Will he be able to slow down and enjoy what he creating, or will the darkness lurking in the shadows consume him?

I guess that I was kinda worried that the author wasn't going to have the visitors to the farm ever leave. That fear is gone.
I'm hoping that they will find a way to make the buffs from the milk into rare permanent potions.
Of course the spicy scenes are to different tastes. If you're not into one, another will be coming along soon.
Jonesing for book 3 already.
I'm giving this book 8.5 out of 5 stars.
Awesome slice-of-life harem series.

First off, the narrator does very well I have no complaints.
As for the story, I think the expanding size of the plot added more intrigue to a simple story, and I'm all for that. As much as I wanted to be fully absorbed into the book, the longer it went on, the more I started to notice that the author really struggles in describing. One of the worst cases they used the same word back-to-back across 8 sentences. That just felt weird listening to. When I picked that up, the "intimate" scenes started feeling weirder. The author started reusing lines or metaphors or flowery language. I don't mind when they describe the same object in the same way, but when the same object has the same action done to it, and the description is the same, it's just weird.
I hope these minor issues are shared up, because I look forward to the next book!

A naughty masterpiece

A guy with a supposedly lengthy past of high danger adventuring goes everywhere without so much as a small pocket knife. A guy whose primary job at this point is brewing potions neither carries even one single healing potion with him, nor keeps them ready to hand in his home (exclusively leaving them in the locked basement). A guy whose home at this point has suffered multiple potentially lethal attacks wanders around with zero concern, conducting no investigations, holding no suspicions, arranging no guards... He's a really weird combination of angsty would-be adventurer and happy-go-lucky idiot. The fact that he didn't immediately see through the transparent plans of That Evil Rich **** at the very end is the cherry on top. From the end of this book going forward, all of his problems exist because of his own incompetence. It's a bit surreal.
That being said, it's still worth listening to, and I'm still getting the next one. I just no longer have any empathy for the MC. The Goatus Ex Machina is the real MVP.
Excellent, but flawed
