Damien & Yelena

This book was much better than the 1st in the series (IMO). I’ve read other series by Zoe Blake that tie in characters to this series and they too were good. In this book. I love love loved Yelena & her fighting spirit. Also, this one was written where Damien explained how she was in danger, as opposed to in the first book where Gregor did not.
The story & character depth is so well done and the first 2 books of this series occur on the same time line as the Ruthless Obsession series, namely Vaska & Mary’s story, so that was cool to see the other side of the helicopter incident on the roof of Dimitri & Emma’s house. I highly recommend reading that series first. It’s super good.
Anyway, back to this book. Unlike his brother Gregor (& how he handled Semana), Damien realized Yelena is scared and everything happening is a lot to absorb. He has much more patience than Gregor even though Yelena wore him out. He seemed to genuinely consider & care for Yelena. I laughed in this book. Also, the whole punishment scenarios played out in this book much better than in Gregor’s story which also happened on a parallel timeline.
I purchased the Audio book and the Tor Thom & Hollie Jackson were fantastic narrators as always - get the audio version, it is soooo worth it.
