They say only fools enter the tower....

All Max wants is to become a climber and search for his long-lost sister.

But citizens aren’t allowed to climb - they aren’t even allowed remotely in the vicinity of the mysterious and magical tower. Plus, even if citizens could enter, it didn’t change the fact that Max’s body is paralyzed from the waist down, confined to a wheelchair. No way would anyone let him enter the tower. Ever.

Yet one night, everything changes, and Max’s world is thrown upside down. He suddenly gains an ultra-rare ability and the chance to train and climb the tower.

But being a climber isn’t as easy as it sounds. Each floor of the tower contains vast worlds and deadly, magical monsters.

While Max may want to ascend to the top of the tower, there are plenty of others who want to as well, many who won’t blink an eye at removing anyone who stands in their way....

Minor Spoilers,

Book was ok could have been better if it actually followed the title however it was all about training to go into the tower. I get teen awkwardness but his best friend before moving to the tower district was a girl. One would think if that was the case at least that woild help. However the MC used that accuse over and over and over again it gets kind of old. Then there is his tower climbing mentor who really did no mentoring but taught him to run, do push-ups and sit-ups, not much more. One would think if the MC was in a wheelchair most of his life maybe teaching some hand to hand combat or how to use his ablitiles in combat but zero training. When there was fighting it was pretty slow, for example during an arena fight one combatant got hit, it took what 3 chapters or so for the combatant to get up. We were switched from character to character to replay that hit multiple times from each character and then an entire chapter of the combatant"s struggles with thier inner demons struggling to stand and continue the fight. Wish there was more action, more exploring, just more of everything but what the book offered, monologimg and inter dialog about prior struggles rather it was bullying, name calling or whatnot. The book is titled tower climber but that seemed to take a back seat to the rest.

Tower climbing with No Climbing!

The story is not bad but not great either. It has some annoying parts where the MC acts out of character. The major problem is the narrator. He does not know how to pronounce words and names. One major example is Sakura is horribly butchered. The other I can remember is instead of say Aviator sunglasses he says Avatar sunglasses. There are more but those where the 2 I could remember off hand.

Performance

Well done. Well narrated.  will be looking forward to the next in the series. You should buy this book.

Good Story

As I was listening to this book, all I was thinking was that the characters were very similar to Harry Potter characters. The main protagonist is from a place with no powers until he finds out he has powers. The female supporting character is from a family without power (basicy muggles). The antagonist is a boy who uses his heritage to lord over others and looks down on those born of lower blood (he's basically Malfoy). All of this is in an academy where they learn to use their powers (Hogwarts).

The book was overall pretty good, even if it was a little cheesy. The performer sounds a little neatly, so it gives the characters some unwanted attitude. But otherwise, everything is pretty good, and I do recommend this book.

Strong Harry Potter vibes
