Publisher's summary

Where to turn when all roads lead to ruin? Last night I barely escaped 1776 New York City - now I have to go back.

My teammates are trapped in a time catch. Worse, the demon master Malphas is building a gateway there, one that could trigger a full-blown apocalypse.

But returning will require new allies: A crabby goblin, a fae princess and former lover, and the demon-vampire Arnaud. Yeah, that guy. And we’re no longer facing one time catch, but several. All ruptured and on the verge of collapse.

Now a simple rescue has turned into a death-defying journey, one that’s pushing my spell casting and stamina to their limits.

But as hellfire lashes up and day dims to eternal night, I’m facing an even greater test...

Choosing between my faith in magic and my love for Vega.

Night Rune is the 8th novel in the urban fantasy series. If you like occult action, spell-crackling suspense, and moments of heart, heroism, and all-out laughter, you’ll love Prof Croft!

Croft does it again - action and magic

The story picks up days after Croft has rescued the efreet from demons. The Order is in a Harkless rift and the Upholders are in a time catch. There is major plotting with Malphas which could lead to a demon apocalypse. Croft is trying to find a way to bring the Upholders from the year 1776. There is the expected fights and magic wielding that comes with a Croft story. You can count on events in this story to make things difficult for him but exciting reading for us. There is the usual down to the last minute to save the world from ending action. Nothing is ever easy for Croft. He travels through 3-time catches, make nice with an old enemy, reunite with an old friend, and save the Order.

Very Satisfying!

Excellent character growth that draws you in and invests you in the story!

Prof Croft and his associates risk themselves and their futures to protect humanity.

He begins to put real trust into his magical connections and moves away from being only a neophyte magic user.

The plot is full of twists and turns and just when you are certain you know what is happening a blade cuts in front of you.

If you have never read a Prof Croft novel, read this one. (But if you are smart, you'll read all the others first!)

Every Book is Better than the One Before

So if you have been on the Prof Croft journey since the beginning you will already know how Brad’s storytelling gets better with every book. The first few books were good but one dimensional in a way. However, Night Rune is the next evolution in world building, story telling, and what is becoming the author’s strength, rich and detailed character building.

This one is a in action packed exploration of characters and plot exploration. The story keeps you guessing and wondering who to trust and what are the characters motivations to keep your interest from the first to last page. It’s a fun romp through time that brings back favorite characters from the past and adds an enjoyable level of depth to characters new and old.

This is becoming one of my favorite series, made even better by the fact that the author has been prolific recently in getting out the installments. I love these books and characters and can’t recommend them enough. They just keep getting better.
