More Please!

Once again, Penelope Sky has written an enthralling story! Once again, Michael Ferraiuolo and Lia Langola complimented each other beautifully. I love stories about strangers begin to get to know one another, and how love and protection begin to solidify their relationship, unbeknownst to them. I have been waiting eagerly for the next installment. I own all of Penelope’s books, Audible and Kindle. I prefer Audible because I love Ferraiuolo’s voice.

Great but Over the Top

Overall the trilogy was a great story. Maverick and his father, strong characters. But Arwin’s character - just too much!! Talked too much, repeated herself too much, just wouldn’t shut up!!! She could have taken a back seat from the second book!

This book grabs you at the first and doesn’t let you go. Can’t wait to read the second in the series.

WOW

I have books in my library that I listen to again occasionally and those that I listen to again frequently. Non of them have ever caused me to take the time and write a review, positive or negative. This book captured me from beginning to end. The story line spoke to me and caused all the feels. I am caught and and carried away and on my way to book two! Definitely worth the credit!

Strangers (no enemies) to friend, then to lovers.

Many reviewers are very harsh and rude toward this story about the characters having side relationships. Please be advised that👉 if you are seeking a love story born from a forced marriage with emotional cruelty and dubious consent with a weak doormat heroine, this is 👉not for you. NO cheating here, as the characters are neither in a relationship nor expecting one. Instead, the story centers on an alliance that may help cautious readers understand the content and decide whether it aligns with their interests.

Love it! And kept me engaged, wanting more.
This is a trilogy, and book 1 is not about a love story. Not a forced marriage, but an alliance that benefits both parties - Maverick and Arwen. In this business arrangement, Maverick's father needed information to locate a person for an overdue revenge, and Arwen's father wanted protection for his daughter since he was ruined and dying. Since their fathers imposed the alliance, it raised a conflict for both characters, who were initially reluctant to comply. Eventually, they agreed with the promises not to interfere with each other's lives. Maverick was a lonely workaholic person with casual encounters, while Arwen was an opera singer in a solid relationship with another man.

The story develops at an appropriate pace, with Maverick and Arwen forging a friendship that gradually deepens into romantic feelings, emphasizing emotional connection over explicit scenes. Interesting cliffhanger that made me move onto the next book.

The audiobook is performed in a dual version (ok), not a Duet 😔.
