Publisher's summary

Dragons. Elves. And the last surviving human fated to save them from the sea.

A flood is coming. The Sea Queen has a mad plan to drown the world.

Only the magic of the Earth Queen can stop her.

Vahly, the last human, was born to fill that role and wield the magic necessary to fight the rising oceans and save the dragons.

But Vahly is the world’s biggest disappointment. So far, she possesses no magic whatsoever.

When she finds an ancient scroll that mentions a human power ritual conducted deep in the homeland of the elves, she gathers her dragon allies, and journeys to see the king of that forest-dwelling race.

Welcomed into a place more lovely than any dream, will Vahly find the truth about her people’s past and wake her magic, or will a twisted and powerful elven lord destroy her chance at saving the world?

Awesome fantasy read

I liked the narration on this book, I thought the narrator did a great job keeping you engaged. I would definitely recommend this to any fantasy reader who like high fantasy rebellion and journey style books. Also dragons and sea people, I mean must I say more! Amazing

Great story

I was thoroughly entertained by this story. Great book. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds. The narrator was good. Her pronunciation of a few words really threw me but overall a solid performance.

Amazing story made even better!

This story is such an epic, amazing, beautiful tale when being read.. but listening to the audiobook really added so much more magic to it! The narrator really brought the characters to life, and I enjoyed listening to it even more than I enjoyed reading it, which isn't very common for me. This story has everything in it.. dragon shifters, elves, sea people, absolutely magical! I highly recommend this series!

Can the last human save the world?

While it took me a while to get into the story, once I caught the adventure I had to keep listening. Enter a world of dragons, sea folk, elves and magic from the black water or earth blood, aka lava. The sea folk have flooded all the land except one remaining island after drowning every human.. Or so they thought. A dragon matriarch chose to rescue a little human girl keeping hope alive to bring back earth magic. Join the adventure as she tries to awaken her power.
The narrator does a good job bringing the characters to life.

cute read

This story admittedly took me a while to get engaged in but now I want to start right into book 2. It has a unique world in that the characters are from both land and in the sea. i havent come across this before, and I would normally want to love mer-people but not these ones! Im hoping the main merman character changes sides at some point. He hates dragons with a passion but also shows curiosity towards humans and dislike for his queen. The earth queen has quite a journey left to figuring out how her powers are going to develop and what they even are. Looking forward to finding out if she figures it out by accident or finds some new character with the secret knowledge.

The narrator did a good job with all the characters, enjoyed her telling of the story. I will be continuing on with this story!

Fate of Dragons

This was a great start to the series, much of the first half of the book was setting the scene, giving history, and building up characters. The characters were well defined. The second half of the book had a lot more action. Will the earth queen be able to completely unlock her powers and be able to use them to safe the dragons and other land creatures?

An epic fantasy adventure

The narration was good. The story gets a bit confusing because there are memory wipes involved toward the end so I had to rewind and listen much more carefully to follow along. The memory wipes made the story seem choppy but once you get past them it all makes sense again. Fun story to listen to.

Vahly goes after her dream

This is a book with some great characters. The story is lively with a lot of action. Each character is unique.
I would recommend this book to those who like magic, elves, dragons, merfolk and other species, war, and some humor. Most of the characters are dragons, elves and merfolk. Vahly is the only human. Some parts of this story are very sad. Some are funny. Vahly is stubborn and will do about anything to be the person that all the dragons believe she is destined to be. It is hard for her to be the only one who cannot fly. She has a lot of spirit and is someone that I enjoyed reading about.

The narrator is amazing. She does a good job bringing each personality to life. She reads with energy and enthusiasm. Her voices are distinct.
