How do you stage a mutiny when you're only awake one day in a million? How do you conspire when your tiny handful of potential allies changes with each job shift? How do you engage an enemy that never sleeps, that sees through your eyes and hears through your ears, and relentlessly, honestly, only wants what's best for you?

Trapped aboard the starship Eriophora, Sunday Ahzmundin is about to discover the components of any successful revolution: conspiracy, code - and unavoidable casualties.

The narrator was good but her choice of sounding like everyone was crying the whole time was a bit much and degraded what was a first class sci fi story.

great story didn't like narrators choice of emotio

I really wanted to like this book as the concept was very interesting, but it just failed to keep my attention.

Dystopian sci go

The scale and detail of this story is simply mind boggling. And the author tackled the challenge with a level of familiarity that I simply don’t understand. An enjoyable listen from a point in time and a point in space that are both basically fixed.

Mind boggling

i liked the ambition of the book, but found it hard to follow in some parts. This was partly because I felt Watts got lost in the details before laying down enough basics of world building, but more so because of the narration; far too whispery and one-note and not great at character differentiation. I enjoyed Blindsight and I'll give his other boobs a try, but was generally disappointed with this one.

Good ideas, so-so execution

I'm really digging this author's imagination and greatly appreciate him for stretching the boundaries of formulaic science fiction. I found this novella by following the author after having read his firefall series, and really liking the first installment, Blindsight. The ideas and exploration in this novella are downright amazing. I really liked the characters, the writing, the plot, the story, the combination of deep space and deep time. Simply, amazing. I will definitely be reading the rest of the novellas in this series.

Finally, a good deep time story!
