sum is greater than its parts.

I loved this story and it's perfect with Halloween approaching. It was fun/scary not scary/scary. There are some real gems in Mr Edward's writing, little snippets that grab me. My favorite was (and this is from my poor memory banks) 'the tension was thick between them, like 2 scissors fighting'

Even though its implausible , I liked it

Entertaining mystery set in Wales, the story is implausible but fairly satisfying. Was entertained till the end and the narration was really good.

One of the best!

This is one of Mark Edward's best books. He writes modern who-done-its with a Dickensian flavor that makes all his books really satisfying reads.

Ending Redeemed Weak Story

Rather than including a spoiler, suffice it to say that the author made a surprising choice at the end. Clever! Saved a below-average plot that was a little too unbelievable and made it rather more real.

Not a bad read

I liked this book. It struggled a bit at the beginning to hold my interest but I stayed with it. I'm glad I did. It was a little creepy with a few surprising twists and turns. The narrator did a fine job, though I was not a fan of his kid's voice. I found it hard to put down during the last 20. chapters and plowed through it in one sitting. I am going to look into more books by this author.

Strong start- poor finish

First three quarters are quite good, if somewhat contrived. Jumps the shark badly in the end.

This is a very good old fashioned mystery in a wonderful setting. The narration was exceptional. Finally, a modern mystery with a gotcha moment! I recommend it.

Enjoyable!

I really like the narrator. It was the first time I'd heard Simon Mattacks. I'll be back for more. The story was good. I gave it a 5, but could've been a 4. I'll look for more books by Mark Edwards.

There was one thing that made me crazy in this story. The flashlight app! Come on...grab a real flashlight!! They make great weapons. Maybe I've read too many zombie books, so I'm always looking for a weapon!! 🙄

Awesome book. I’m a driving listener and I made any excuse to run to the store just to listen to the next chapter. Very happy with the suspenseful story, brilliantly written and with a twist that’s unexpected.
