I love this narrator!

This book is brilliant. I had a feeling who the real psycho was, but I wasn't disappointed. And the story tellers’ accent made the book 1000 times more enjoyable.

Great story.

Kept the surprises up. Loved the main character, although he makes some bad choices. Always easy to see those from a far though. I imagine, in the moment, I might have made the same ones.

it went on and on and... too long.

I was enticed. but it when on and on and was predictable and boring by the end. disappointed.

I didn’t see that coming

The book got off to a slow start, but it was establishing the frame work for the rest of the story. Once the story got moving, I was captivated. And the author kept on with one turn of events after another.
Also, the narrator was one of the best! He did an excellent job helping me get caught up in the emotions of the main character.
Bottom line, I really enjoyed this story and the manner in which it was told.

Pacific Heights meets Dexter meets Breaking Bad

So for all of you who need to like at least one character to read/listen to a book - you'll have to look elsewhere. Even the main character isn't likable - too dumb and naive. Well...the youngest sister might be at least intriguing. But as a story - not so bad. A great gruesome story that will keep you asking, "What else can happen?!?!?"

This thriller starts well, gets you interested but plumets into unbelievable killings.

Elliott our main protagonist is a nerdy but kind scientist who loves fixing his house, teaching student and is very attached to his cat. Charlie the cat is the most lovable character in this tale. The novel starts with a love affair, followed by a rushed wedding in Las Vegas. Elliott and Gemma are not well suited. Gemma carries a lot of emotional baggage and secrets. The arrival of Gemma’s parents and sister quickly creates chaos and resentments in the house.They epitomize the in-laws from hell and they are « Here to Stay » indefinitely with the young couple. From being rude and obnoxious, they become threatening and scary.
Elliott is afraid that his father in law is responsible for the death of his neighbors. I listened to the book until the end, but I got tired of the number of murders, the surprises and the slow but inexorable destruction of Elliott’s life. I found it unpleasant and extreme.
This book didn’t do it for me.

Great book

When I started listening I thought the book was going to be predictable. Boy, was I wrong!! The plot moves right along and the ending was great!!

A brilliant listen!

Just finished listening to Here to Stay. Brilliant train-wreck of a story that you can’t pull yourself away from. PS—if you’re about to get married or invite new in-laws to stay, you should probably delay (your events AND the book!).

Unusual guilty evil doer

A real suspense murder twist. Unusual plot that took awhile to develop but the story moved along quickly and I could not put it down especially with the reader's ability to add a real sense of doom in the story. I have read/listened to several of Edwards books and I loved them all. Sometimes scary sometimes unexpected but always interesting with surprises.

Excellent!!

I totally enjoyed the plot, characters, narration, etc. of this audio book. This is my favorite book so far by this author. Starts off sweet and slowly unravels into something else!!
