From G. Michael Hopf, the acclaimed apocalyptic and best-selling author of The New World series, is back with an exciting new and dark apocalyptic novel, Day Of Reckoning.

The day started like any other, but it ended with the human race fighting for its very existence.

It was:

A day of sorrow.

A day of sacrifice.

A day of death.

A day of reckoning.

As usual G. Michael Hopf delivers,a new take on the modern world and the many threats faced.
he builds up the story with an Arsenal of characters and a solid plot.the action is well paced and I listened to the book in 24 hours.
looking forward to the story continuing. a very timely read.

Would you try another book from G. Michael Hopf and/or Joseph Morton?

I am a fan of Hopf's work, but i cant say so much for Joseph Morton.

Would you recommend Day of Reckoning to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe, it wouldnt be the first book recommendation i would give.

What aspect of Joseph Morton’s performance would you have changed?

Joseph Morton is not a horrible narrator, but he also isnt really good. He sort of reminds me of listening to "Grandpa's stories" kind of thing. He has very little voice flexuation, but he is able to make slight little changes from character to character, but he runs out of distinguishable character voices quickly.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

I generally enjoy Hopf's work, but I think the narrator left me cringing on this one. This PA story twists the modern day terror treat with a unique perspective on a mutant/zombie bio threat. Joseph Morton has a limited scope of voice manipulation and I've listen to many other books he has narrated. There were a number of moments that I got tired of listening to Morton, but the story itself kept me engaged. There are roughly 4 or 5 separate character story lines to follow in this book and for the most part its pretty easy to track. Hopf writes the book as both a solo novel and also leaves plenty of room to write a sequel or start another series. If he changes the narrator, I might stick with it.

Not bad, not great

I was thoroughly engaged throughout this book. it's a ride through the lives it touched to the day of reckoning and I want more!

great story in the makes

This book deals primarily with the discord within the U.S. leaving the world vulnerable. it is a bit frustrating as the end of society does not begin until the end of the book (which is sad in itself that it is disappointing to those of us that like a zombie story).

Sadly it could happen thus way
