Simplistic and unrealistic

Story was too simplistic. Billy Lee wasn't well rounded, he was simply too nice. Story was predictable. Listened to the whole thing because once I start a book, I finish it. Sweet, light read but no depth.

Hilarious!!

Occasionally a book comes along that makes you laugh, cry, find yourself and cheer changes;this is one of those books. in my mind's eye I could see people I know doing many of the things these characters did. I hope her next book I listen to is as entertaining.

The writer gave the main character a wonderful sense of humor and rich personality. i really enjoyed this book.

Loved this book. What spunk she showed. And the sardines in the car was perfect!

There are no surprises in this simplistic story, but you may still enjoy it for a quick read.

What a Hoot!

This was such a sweet story! Overcoming the turmoils of life and the struggles of turning your life upside down even when the entire town, including family, disagrees woth all of the choices made to make life what it was supposed to be! The Narration was great, made me see into Trudy and Billy Lee's life so much better than if I'd have read this myself! Couldn't put it down!

Sweet World enjoyment

The story was a sweet wonder and remind her how cute our world can be. I read it over the holidays and it brought smiles, laughter, and tears end it was an absolute joy to read

A very sweet very southern-love story

Both story and narration blend into the story of love and life in the South in the 1990-ies I would guess, with true love revealed to a 40 y.o. good woman who lived all her life for others, were taken advantage of and deserves a true happiness for herself. A touch of drama, a touch of country, no steamy love scenes - just pure truth of life. Narration is from 1st person, the heroine, in story-matching southern accent - story brought to life in a perfect way. Reminded me of hallmark or life-time channel movies.
