Mercy Spenser promised her friend and roommate she'd spend her vacation in west Texas for a charitable mission—she didn't agree to the oppressive heat, massive spiders, or the rowdy cantina next door drowning out her gospel singing. She's not the type to sit idly by, so when she clashes with the sexy-as-hell man who runs the place, her temper is hot enough to nearly burn down the entire town.

Despite refusing to turn down his jukebox and inviting Miss Mercy to leave his cantina alone, Hunter Wilson can't get that gospel singer with the ice-blue eyes out of his mind. Finding her again in their tiny town isn't the problem. Convincing her that he's interested—well, that's another story. But if Mercy will give Hunter one more chance to show his true feelings, they just might find the love of a lifetime.

Such a fun book to listen to. Loved the narration of the book. I usually listen to crime mysteries. This was a good change. Uplifting!

I enjoyed listening to this story about two people who meet when they are about to start their dream life. This narrator did an excellent job of expressing all the feelings of the characters. I look forward to reading and listening to more stories from this author and this narrator.

Great Story

"On the Way To Us" seemed to be a story about 2 very immature "Christian" women whose thought processes were stuck in between the 1800s (Jenny) and the late 1950-early 1960s (primary character Mercy Spenser). It's not that Jenny wanted to honor YHWH by waiting until marriage...I thought that was spectacular! It's the childish bossiness, the very evident selfishness shown in the division of things after her move and the unkindness that she showed her best friend that makes me doubt her genuine commitment to showing Messiah's love to others. Mercy's unwillingness to listen to Hunter, while "knowing" that she was in the presence of catty, troublemakers for "weeks" was patently ridiculous! If, as I saw in some other reviews, this story was a renewing of an older story, it should have been revised.

"Love Struck Cafe" was worth the entire credit. Had the option been provided, I'd have given "On the Way To Us" 3 stars and "Love Struck Cafe" 5 stars...thus the 4 star review score. Flint Walker stops at a Cafe run by Jasmine Thurman because he didn't want to hit a dog in the road. What Carolyn Brown called "fate" works for those of us who serve YHWH as "HIS Perfect Timing" or "all things working together for good to those that love HIM". Clint lost his family ranch because his grandfather didn't write a will. He planned to go at least 2 states away from his greedy family. Instead, he was blessed with good land, a good woman and was able to be a blessing to his foreman all within the Much Lower Budget he'd been left with after the losses. Both Clint and Jasmine were blessed with their "Promised Land". That's a truly good Christian story without any Hardline proselytizing, people acting as if they are sinless while still being quite human and letting ABBA work things out HIS way in HIS time. Kind of reminded me of the story of Ruth. Both protagonists were a bit older, both had suffered loss, both hard workers, both having people who cared nearby willing to "butt in" presenting opportunities without a heavy push. Both get restoration. Excellent Carolyn...🤗😃 absolutely excellent!!
