Having a surfeit of super powers is great for battling bad guys and saving the world, as Jim (aka Kid Sensation) is finding out, but less useful in dealing with day-to-day situations - like bonding with his superhero father, adjusting to a team environment, and coping with what might be perceived as a growing rivalry between himself and another teen super. On top of all that, despite having a serious girlfriend, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to a new female super he's just met.

At the same time, some villain has just gotten himself a new toy: an unknown weapon of tremendous power that is able to strike without warning, causing unprecedented destruction and loss of life. Perhaps more terrifying, the wielders of this weapon make no demands and issue no threats; they simply attack. Even the Alpha League, the world's greatest superhero team, is not immune, suffering an assault on their very own doorsteps.

It quickly becomes clear that the only way to stop this new evil is from within. With his unique abilities, Jim is the only person capable of infiltrating the enemy's ranks. It's up to him to figure out who is behind these attacks, what they want, and find a way to stop them - and their secret weapon - before they bring the entire world to its knees.

Another winner

Hardman has continued to build up his heroic world. Kid Sensation is back in this third book. Naramore' narration, already great, has somehow continued to improve. I really think he is beginning to get into the swing of the series, and his enjoyment of the material really shows. The series itself is straitup popcorn chewing superheroics like you'd see on the big screen.

I do have one small nitpicky problem, and that is the way the story is set up. For the most part it seems very much like two seperate self-contained stories. They do tie together, but it just comes off like two short stories put together. Nothing wrong with that, I just think either idea could have been fleshed out into a full length tale to stand on their own. Hardman's writing is as fine and sharp as ever, and he is very aware that he might be writing for an audience that does not consist solely of adults, and he keeps it toned for a YA audience (just like most comic books). I would like to see Kid Sensation face a real rival of a villain later in the series, every hero needs a good nemesis.

Over all another top notch tale.

Can't get enough!

I can't get enough of this series! From beginning to end Ive been enveloped in this story. You've done it again. Each story I read just keeps getting better and dread the day you stray from the kid sensation story line (jims story). Looking forward to Revelation.

Another Great Addition In The Series

“Infiltration” is book three in the continuing adventure of teen superhero, Kid Sensation. Although the Kid Sensation books are intended for a young adult audience, I feel they appeal to an older demographic as well. The only tricky thing that author Kevin Hardman has to deal with is the potential lack of suspense because he made his protagonist so powerful. Kid Sensation has way too many major powers. Because of that, I feel the villain in each novel needs to be equal or better so that the reader can feels a sense of suspense and desperation and maybe even a little bit of fear. The outcome of a clash between the hero and the villain shouldn’t be stacked in the hero’s favor. It should be just the opposite. Since Mr. Hardman has made Kid Sensation so ridiculously powerful, every story requires a truly powerful villain to keep the reader from taking the outcome of a clash for granted. So far, Mr. Hardman has not always gotten around that problem. Yet all the books have been enjoyable reads/listens.

Although you could enjoy book three on its own, I highly recommend picking up the first two books in the series and reading them in order. Finally, this audio book was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Boom.

It's great

My fourth read from author Kevin Hardman was amazing! Well-written super-hero sci-fic/suspense, with well-developed characters. Narrator Mikael Naramore’s narration added to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I look forward to reading more in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
