An epic new trilogy begins—a tie-in for the milestone fiftieth anniversary of Star Trek: The Original Series—that stretches from the earliest voyages of the Starship Enterprise to Captain Kirk’s historic five-year-mission…and from one universe to another!

Hidden aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise is a secret that has been passed from captain to captain, from Robert April to Christopher Pike to James T. Kirk. Now the return of the enigmatic woman once known as Number One has brought that secret to light, and Kirk and his crew must risk everything to finish a mission that began with April so many years ago…

Nearly two decades earlier, April and his crew first visited the planet Usilde, where they found both tragedy and a thorny moral dilemma. Today, the legacy of that fateful occasion will compel Kirk to embark on a risky voyage back to that forbidden world—which is now deep in territory claimed by the Klingon Empire!

Would you listen to Captain to Captain again? Why?

I would. It's a well written story that captures the original series crew, while peppering in the last fifty years over Trek canon very tastefully. It does a great job of focusing on what makes the original series so much fun, but also rewarding the reader for all the shows/movies we've seen since.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It would be very easy to. It plays out like a long original series episode, with very well done exposition.

Well balanced

Any additional comments?

I love Star Trek, but this book was terribly predictable. The premise was intriguing with a classic episode tie-in, but it was just no fun to read (listen).

A so so Star Trek adventure. The story was good. And the narration done well. Voices of the characters were in some cases close to what we are familiar with from tv and movie days. There is not much here to complain about nor praise but all and all a good book but much easier to enjoy if you can picture the Tv and movies we all seemed to watch in the past and also in the present.

Beam me to my next book!

This felt like it could have easily been an audio drama of a TOS episode. The voice acting nails the spirit of the characters we all know and love.
