Sea of Silver Light

Otherland Book 4

By: Tad Williams

Narrated by: George Newbern

A group of adventurers searching for a cure for comatose children find themselves trapped in a sequence of virtual worlds, the only opponents of a conspiracy of the rich to live forever in a dream. Now, they are forced to make an uneasy alliance with their only surviving former enemy against his treacherous sidekick Johnny Wulgaru, a serial killer with a chance to play God forever.

Few science fiction sagas have achieved the level of critical acclaim-and best-selling popularity-as Tad Williams's Otherland novels. A brilliant blend of science fiction, fantasy, and technothriller, it is a rich, multilayered epic of future possibilities.

Love this series

Yes, the ending drags a little. Did we need the little supernatural addition? Probably not. But truly, the only feeling one can be left with after finishing all four books is a sense of loss.

The Ending to a Wonderful Story

This is the ending of a grand story. The story is intriguing with many threads and interesting characters.
If you like long stories where the characters find themselves in strange circumstances, trying to survive against insurmountable odds, you'll like this series. Surprises right up to the end.
Some books are 'novels' and some books are 'stories'. This series is an amazing 'story' told by a wonderful storyteller.

Newbern is a joy in this character driven epic.

I love the series. George Newbern is a fantastic narrator, seamlessly switching between characters of diverse background, gender, and species in a way that kept me immersed in this series more than any other I've listened to before. The story is complex and character driven, well written, and well paced. I would recommend it to everyone I know if I didn't think they would balk at the page count (though the story is worth every page).

wonderful

great end to the series, I hope to read more from this author and the narrator in the future.

Great Story

I loved this series. It's a wonderful epic journey in a fantastic world. If you like LoTR, Alice in Wonderland, or the Matrix, you'll probably like this.
